Just did a trip to Bangkok and Pattaya and had signed up for Thai Friendly using a handle that had 'freelance' in it thinking the girls who did freelance would see it and understand what I was looking for and would respond, didn't happen. So I deleted that account and opened another using a more reasonably named handle, still not too many replies. I hit the password and it let me log in. I then signed in on my laptop under the freelance and noticed something odd. It had transferred my premium membership to the old account. I was then allowed to change the handle again since it was listed as premium. Under my account where it lists when you were charged for your membership, first billed etc it just says: No order found. I am curious if this glitch might have given me a free premium account or if I'll be billed a second time for it. Should find out in ten days or so.

Unfortunately, the mongering scene in all of these countries has long been in serious and irreversible decline, and in Thailand the regular dating scene is going to shit too (relative to what it was only a few years ago). I'm 100% certain about this for Thailand and Indonesia, not closely familiar with the Philippines.

Ten years ago, when decent girls were cheap and plentiful, I would have agreed with you. An occasional sponsor might have even done us a favor overall, since the girls had something to aspire too, and would be nicer to Farang customers in hopes of maybe snagging a regular or semi-regular sponsor.

However, these days, the scene has changed massively, we're left scraping the bottom of the barrel. Throw the sponsors into this mess, and you have bottom-end girls, who already charge high prices for not much service, thinking they're worth even more. Why are these the only 2 options? Of course you could pay cheaply for a girl with a pretty face, good body, plenty of time, fun and skills. I don't think that money is the issue for quality. The best professional experience of my life was with an average looking Butterflies girl who only charged 2000 baht short time, but she was an excellent performer and stayed about 12 hours. I think I tipped her about 1000 baht.

You get guys who are paying for an expensive Hotel, and eat in expensive restaurants, which is fine, maybe splurge money on drinks, but then want to pay very stingy for a girl. That is what I find to be a "mean" attitude. If they value the sex so much less than their room, and dinner, why take the sex at all? Seems like they just need a hole to stick the dick in. Makes a lot more sense to me if guys looking for a quality room, and quality food, and paying more, also do so with taking higher quality girls, or alternatively more of them. These days I try to work to some sort of budget due to being in Thailand a lot more than 6 weeks per year. I used to spend far more. The first way to reduce spend is by eating healthy Thai food (yes its possible to find that largely vegetable based. Ignoring all the junky stuff Thais eat) and cheaply. Then stay in a very Moderately priced accommodation. Room has to have a desk to work at, and comfortable bed, and preferably not noisy, and location has to be convenient for either me or the visiting girls. Finally make private meetings with favourite girls to cut out bar fees, drinks, massage fees to management etc. , but I need a quality girl, with good looks, good fun, good performance.

The prices got a lot higher, we have to accept it, or take the desperate girls willing to go lower. The advantage of regular girls, is you don't have to bicker the price. They know I pay fairly, not always exactly the same. There can be a bonus for working them extra hard or for longer time. They are extra keen to visit me when business is low.

Well, he probably did not expect people to work for nothing, Making 1 or 1. 5 k baht for 30 min to an hour of work in Thailand is quite a bit more than the 300 Baht a day min wage. Jacking up the prices has no advantages. It simply makes it "exclusive" which is exactly what folks came to Thailand to escape. Nothing worse than the "I can afford it and you can't" crowd. It's nice to have a scene everyone can enjoy. That's really the point.

The burgeoning middle class from these countries now wants to taste foreign pussy and no one is going to stop it. 20 years ago, the western monger did not encounter this problem and had free reign over the chicks.

The girls can drop their standards because the new mongers don't know what to expect and have no performance benchmark for comparison.

Sure, technology, low unemployment, higher salaries and greater competition from new mongers means the game now sucks. But so what, we just need to adapt and find our niche.

I agree with your first paragraph. Yes, the influx of hordes of Asian first time mongers has really effected (read practically ruined) the p4 p scene for in Thailand. I remember my first trip to Nom Penh in the late 90s. Ran into a dude I had met in Bkk a few months before the first night. He literally grabbed me by my collar and said, "This is what you pay them," and proceeded to list the prices at all the venues. And added, "If you pay more you'll ruin it for all of us including yourself." He's right. Sadly the natural progression is for it to be ruined. It's inevitable and with the ease of travel and the ease of gathering information, places will lose their luster quickly. Thailand was amazing for decades. The decline happened very quickly. Mongers wanting good scenes need to choose places that are edgy and where there is very little for tourists these days. Methinks the final run for us over 50s will be a country in the north of South America once it stabilizes just a wee bit. Probably get at least a few good years where it is cheap and lots of fun.

I don't see much of a niche left to tell you the truth. Many of us have no want to spend hours on the net shifting through the chaff. Even there it's tough to find a gal that ticks all the boxes. The beauty of the scene in Thailand was its ease. Walk down Sukhumvit at night and get propositioned every 15 mtrs, go to a soapy and you'd have a hundred gals to look at, hit a pse oily and you'd have a hard time choosing, go to Thermae and it was a party every night with aggressive gals grabbing your package. That's all gone and it's not coming back. What's replaced it is less fun, harder work for the monger, and considerably more expensive. Honeslty if it were better and more expensive, we'd all be happy.
