I'm sure a lot of mongers here would remember 15 to 20 years ago when you could pick up a nice looking regular girl on a Friday night who was just out to make some extra money because she had run out before her next payday. They would only be out for a few night a month. They would be girls from banks, insurance companies, etc. Where the pay was quite low. These days they make enough to live on and send money home.

The other day I was at Pattaya Bazaar and ran into a chick that I know who works there. She started talking about another chick that we know in common that always goes to the discos. The disco chick had borrowed up to 10 K from the Bazaar chick and never paid it back over 2 years. The disco chick called the Bazaar chick's boyfriend and caused him to break up with her. The Bazaar chick did not want to be friends with the disco chick anymore at which time she paid her her 10 K back. We both said that was weird.

As I have always said that most hookers these days are hookers because they are lazy. The Bazaar chick goes on about how the disco chick talks about how she can make 2000 or 3000 for a short time. The Bazaar chick realizes that is not steady employment. She said she makes enough at the bazaar to pay her bills and send money back home and she has a motorbike and a car (I am thinking the former boyfriend may have helped somewhat). Meanwhile I always see the disco chick walking and hardly ever with a customer at the discos. So the disco chick spends hours on end hoping for money, while the bazaar chick is spending the same amount of time actually making money and is not complaining about anything.

Correct, however the rise in salaries in Thailand no where justifies the crazy increase in p4 p prices and is absolutely no excuse nor reason for the decreased performance standards or the terrible attitudes. That lies at the feet of the punters, who have become far less demanding.

Technology disrupters have entered just about every industry. Look at taxis, hotels, food delivery, motor vehicles, book sales and movies. Why should the mongering industry be any different?

There are mongers who will always yearn for the good old days when bar fines were 100 baht, girls asked for 300 baht all night with 4 pops CIM, there were no Indians or Russians in Pattaya, when AC wasn't teaming Koreans, the bars were all rocking and there was no internet. Unfortunately, those days are gone and mongers just need to adapt. To say that the sponsors have destroyed it for everyone is a bit ridiculous. The girls now have access to technology and there is very little unemployment in the shithole countries in which we monger in. These are the only things which have changed.

If it's any consolation, the average western monger has seen his wealth dramatically rise to unprecedented levels over the past 20-years (despite the GFC). Stocks have risen, property has risen and he's probably had five promotions at work. I don't see any mongers bleating about that.

Have to say I agree with Croc on this one. Yes, in many aspects of life technology has led to better service and ease. With mongering, it's the opposite. It's led to hordes of mongers who have very low expectations of the gals they take, higher prices, bad attitudes, and on and on. How do you "adapt" to that? It's like being sold a car that that has fewer features, is less technologically advanced, and performs worse than you old car for 5 times the price. And the amazing thing is that so many of the new punters are ok with this. How many times on the forum do we read, "well she didn't do what she promised but I tipped her anyway."

I'm 100% certain about this for Thailand and Indonesia, not closely familiar with the Philippines.

Ten years ago, when decent girls were cheap and plentiful, I would have agreed with you. An occasional sponsor might have even done us a favor overall, since the girls had something to aspire too, and would be nicer to Farang customers in hopes of maybe snagging a regular or semi-regular sponsor.

However, these days, the scene has changed massively, we're left scraping the bottom of the barrel. Throw the sponsors into this mess, and you have bottom-end girls, who already charge high prices for not much service, thinking they're worth even more. Slightly more skilled ones are even dropping out of the straight-out PFP scene altogether, moving to chasing sponsors online.

The conversation on getting it for free amuses me. Those members who argue for it being perfectly acceptable are the same members who regularly glorify in paying the girls less than scale.
