A confession. I do wear branded t-shirts: In-and-Out. Just bought their 75 Anniversary one. And sandals. Flip flops are for showers, Teva's are for walking, F1's or Hurricane's. Didn't mean any offense, just trying to set a picture.

I think I look presentable. I have nice banana republic shorts and t-shirts without any branding. I do walk first thing in the morning for about 30 minutes without a shirt. I'm trying to get more vitamin D from the sun and that isn't the best look. But I do that at a mall parking lot before it opens.

The experience is great for me. I didn't have to go through hoops just to fuck the girls. I message them "Hi do you want to meet for ST 1000 baht" and they would be in my room in 15-30 minutes. The only down side is won't really know what they look like until they arrive and sometimes they don't look as good as in the photos but for a 1000 baht I'm not complaining just bang them and forget about them.

You are right. You better have some type of friends. I encourage everyone to go out and socialize and build some type of circle. I know many guys that have been in accidents (me for one), had heart attacks and other medical emergencies, and some have even died. Thanks to their network of friends they were able to be cared for.

My buddy who was a retired Vietnam veteran that had not been back to the States since Regan was president died back in August at 79. He spoke fluent Thai and was on his fourth Thai wife. They lived in one of those old Thai style hovels. He died broke. Luckily he had a network of friends that was able to see to his needs these last couple of years and his final services a couple of months ago, and take up a collection for his wife.

Seems a number of people don't plan ahead, a mindset of it won't happen to me. You get in an accident, heart attack, stroke, into the hospital. So who can access your funds to pay your bills, hospital, house, support for your teeruk? How fluent are you in Thai? It's NOT back home where it's easy to understand what's going on. And if you die, what about those you leave behind here? She's taken care of you while you were sick, an invalid, bedridden, taken HER time to spend with you. Not the good times when you were up and about, but now, roll you over to prevent bedsores, spoon feed you, take care of your personal hygiene. Yes, you've supported her, but now what? She's past her prime, any thoughts of what happens to her? Yes, it's all fun and games until it's not. I've heard the tales, granted 2nd hand, but from Thais who do care about others. The falang in the hospital, no visitors, staring at the ceiling day and night. So, some visitors are arranged. The falang stuck in, they might say spare bedroom, I say closet, while she has the run of the house with her BF. Some LE intervention, a PAID caretaker arranged.

Some say Karma, others it's "Do unto others..." If you're accepted as family, as a friend, with a bit of luck, you'll be OK. But having the attitude of "King"... fine when you're upright, but when not... amazing how fast all those friends disappear. True the world over.

P.S. Another buddy of mine is 72 and a retired Vietnam veteran and has gone all this time without getting disability. He is just getting hip. That is the hustle of the USA Military. You can get out and get disability for the rest of your life and live like a king on that $3700/ month in places like Thailand.
