I am scheduled to spend a month in the Maldives with a Thai lady later this year. Apart from the cost, what's the downside?

Your deductive reasoning skills are flawed. I never said I was a cheap Charlie. If I was under financial duress I doubt I would have visited Pattaya 13 x. I even visited during high season on purpose. The reality is I'm a young retiree who can live in Patty full time if I wanted to. I am not a backpacker and I stay at US branded hotels in Pattaya. There are more important things in life than hardened hookers. I'm saying the quality on Soi 6 doesn't warrant a price hike. Soi 6 is marginally better than the beach. Just because I prefer hotties and don't want to spoil the market doesn't mean I can't afford International travel. I've matured. I even stated that I would pay 1500 baht if that became the uniform price. I guess if you went in a restaurant and the menu said 1 k for the plate and you saw others paying 1 k you still would pay 1500 because the waiter said so.

The problem is Korean 2 week millionaires paying 3000 baht for ST, and also many ladydrinks.

What's in the cards is that Farang customers will desert Soi 6, which will then be empty during periods when there are no Korean holidays. The number of Koreans who will go to Soi 6 during off-peak periods won't be enough to maintain the status quo, and so the hordes of Thai women will disappear.

If you're wondering about all the traveling, there is a new tax regulation requiring long term residents to pay Thai income tax. If only stay in Thailand for 179 days, no tax.

Also, if I travel with a Thai lady, its 1000 baht a day, if I stay in my Pattaya condo, I often have 2 ladies, which is 4000 baht a day.

I don't think it's a new law.

I'm affected though. I'm planning to stay under 180 days.

I took a Thai lady to Japan for 4 days, nothing special there. But then I dropped her off at Narita airport to go back to Thailand, and then I took a different plane to Addis Ababa, where another Thai lady was waiting for me, and we flew together to Brazil.

Was having breakfast at a small cafe across from the new railway station in Hua Hin. A couple pulls up on a motor bike in front of the shop next door. He is a tall scandinavian in great shape about 30. On the back of his bike was a short stacked Thai girl about 20 and a real looker. Apparently he was dropping her off to pick up her bike. The funny thing about the whole situation was from the look on his face he was so tired of her shit. But she kept whining anyway about "are you going to call me". Reminded me of the old saying "no matter how good she looks there is a guy somewhere who is tired of her shit". LOL.

2 k depends on girls look age and appearance. I don't consider 2 k a deal on Soi 6 unless she is an 8 or 2 k becomes the official price most guys are paying. The girls are trying to push it up to 1500. I think 2 k for a 6 on Soi 6 would cause me to take a break from Pattaya.
