    The Facts

I presented an article from February of this year that cites data from Abecs indicating that one quarter of electronic payments in Brazil are contactless. Abecs is the association in Brazil that represents that country's electronic payments sector. So, you know more about it than they do? I don't think so. The same article stated further that contactless payments are growing exponentially in Brazil (I acknowledged that), and could soon reach 50%. I said that if and when it gets to 75%, then I would be comfortable (that's my flexibility level). So what's your self-professed obsession with what I said? And I emphasize I because again, if it's Sperto saying it, then you don't seem to have anything to say about it yourself then. And if Vagabundo is being a jerk, you never have anything to say about that either. But you're always following me around in this thread and that trying to step on my dick. Now how unpleasant is that? Seems like the obsession is with me. Now, if by "digging in" you mean sticking with the facts over your anecdotal evidence of what you saw, well then you're doggone right! I will go with well-presented facts from reliable sources each and every time, and not be swayed by the fact that a monger posted a picture of a street sausage seller accepting credit cards LOL! And then fessed up to paying cash in the end hahahaha! OMFG too funny!

It's not about dismissing something or about my agreement / disagreement with it. I am just pointing out the inconsistency of viewpoints and I draw a parallel from that to show it.

Just want to give you a straight answer and unfortunately I have to give an example which maybe unpleasant the way I put it. I hope that can clear up something

    Apology?

I don't know about anybody else, but I'm not seeking any apologies from anybody. And speaking of "damage", it's VB1's behavior here (and other places) that has done a lot of that. I don't like him, and I'm not alone in that. He's damn right we'll never meet! And as long as you choose to keep acting as his "proxy" (yes you do), then to use Spidy's language, that's going to lead to "dust ups" between us too. I think it's best if the both of you just stay out of my business, and me out of yours. And as for Sperto, when it's all said and done, at the end of the day who gives a shit? He's long since been pushed to the margins since his old crew all abandoned him LOL (those of you who have been around a long time know who).

I think that's not the history with me. My post can be read independently on its own. What I see is that TC is in a disadvantage position, and he digs his heels in. I underestimated the damage I could do and I did it intentionally to show certain aspect of things. I could apologize but as is he may misunderstand that I am apologizing something I am not.

I have to choose my words carefully in order to not cause more damage. I am not even sure if the word "damage" is appropriate but that is my best effort. I will have my tail between my legs go into hiding soon, hopefully with a newly-mint SB. hehe

It is strange isn't it? That you always seem to respond to somebody who you're supposedly ignoring LOL! Try not going to dirty prives where you have to use an old flyer to grip the railings so as to avoid getting Vagabundo's cum on your hands will you? Hahahaha!

You do have knowledge that I shared with you by PM that is in fact my own firsthand knowledge gathered from the subject former senior member himself. I told you who the senior member who quit is by name, and you did your own research and found indeed that the man has not posted here in ages, and you can't even find his handle here anymore (it seems his old posts now just appear as "member" with a number following). You know my intel is solid Spidy, and you ought to acknowledge that versus beating around the bushes. I have also conveyed who it is to WyattEarp, another monger here whom I trust. I was going to fill Xpartan in and let him know as well, but his mailbox was full. And as I told you both (Spidy and WyattEarp), I don't mention who it is here publicly because the guy told me he was afraid that if VB1 found out about how he felt about him (and about some other things this unknown monger was involved in), that VB1 would try to "doxx" him. The "unknown monger" conveyed to me that he had seen VB1 do that to at least one other person.

So, I have respected his privacy by not naming him here publicly. My information is solid and backed up by the facts, and I don't appreciate Xpartan challenging my veracity. He may think it's a ridiculous assertion, but that shows just what he knows about it, which is nothing. And WyattEarp recently conveyed what he knows about another member walking away from the board because of VB1, a situation which I was also aware of as well, but the person was not a senior member with gravitas here like the other I have referred to. Like we used to say back in the day, if you don't know then you better ask somebody! Both Spidy and WyattEarp know! Ask them if it's just some "ridiculous" bullshit I made up or what? They know the facts because I told them, and they could easily do some quick checking on their own (and I know that Spidy did) to confirm. I'm not about to torpedo the credibility I've established over the years by spreading a bunch of bullshit lies. The facts prove the veracity of my statements on this. And that's what matters. The facts.

I, was not "dismissing", The Bwana Dik guide (aka. The Bubba Boy Guide), as I know it is still useful and has value to some BMs and yet not so much for others. Nevertheless, it remains "one of many sources of information" and it's relevance or value, is accessed according to each individual's mongering travel goals, needs and priorities.

But the sad fact is, the The Bwana Dik guide (aka. The Bubba Boy Guide), barely registers on most mongerer's radar as a "go-to-source", when mongering in Brazil, these days.

Agreed! VB1's intel on several things, have been very beneficial for me personally and on occasion, I have found his POVs to be of interest. Although these days I just "ignore" much of his posts (as I am sure he does mine).

Although, that is not currently what I was debuting here (at least not by me), I understand, much of the dialogue presented will often "spin-off" sub-categories/issues. This can be a good thing, most times.

Cane, while I agree with your sentiment, the use of "proxy war" (albeit probably just a "turn of phrase"), sounded a bit too nuclear (...kkk), but I get your drift. "Dust-up" works for me.

My intent here, isn't to malign or disparage anyone. It is to simply clear up any misconceptions and provide "context" and "clarity", w/r to The Bwana Dik guide (aka. The Bubba Boy Guide), and to give BMs an opportunity to present their POVs and air their differences.

Hopefully this round of discussions and dialogue has done just that.

NOTE: This topic is still open (as far as I am concerned), if other BMs, still wish to weigh-in. Although, I have to admit the silence is deafening coming from the "peanut gallery".

    Cane and Wyatt

    1. Cleaned my mail.

    2. I think I know who you mean, and it's unfortunate if that's the case. He's skillful and entertaining writer, I'm sorry he quit.

    3. Cane, I never meant to call you a liar (or imply that). Sorry if it came out like that.

But listen, I've never met VB, I don't share his political views (my goodness, I don't! His sometimes harsh criticism of other members, or his weird paramilitary inclinations (LOL), but I do share his passion about having fun in Rio. And I like his anecdotes and datapoints, too. Helps to stay "hydrated" between my trips, kkk.

Now, changing handles to prove a point is unseemly, if true. I'll never understand why some folks are trying so hard to prove anything. This is a mongering forum, for fuck's sake, not the UN.

And how purposeful and productive was (past tense) his reign anyway? He essentially turned the Brazil threads into a self-promoting, personal diary that annoyed so many members that they stopped posting. I wouldn't give this guy the benefit of the doubt on anything. He even posted under an old handle to make it look like somebody else was joining him in criticizing another member here. Now that was low! Maybe he forgot that many of us first encountered him under that old handle, but us old-timers did not. The best predictor of the future is the past. We need not words but actions. You're as always out looking for drama. I have always considered your posts to be childish, irrelevant and drama seeking. Its funny that you are so sensitive and out looking for drama that you felt the need (despite no previous communication) to send me a pm crying about racism. LMFAO!

Bubba Boy's guide is of timeless value to Rio mongering because all the dynamics of meeting the girl in the terma are still true. Just last night with a new ISG member, I was trying to translate for him at Perola Negra. He could have used some of the points in Bubba Boy's guide.

As for price check update, all that you need is at.

I guess somehow I've gotten controversial again. I see this in responses because I ignore some members if there's no good energy there.

But, I will allow you this. Even if all you do is come on this forum to relive your great times, that's fine. There are lots of sites on the internet where people do only that. I would just say, get your stuff together, come to Rio and make new memories.

Use wealth as an argument is a little silly. Luxury is a handicap when you can't really afford it. I can live on 60 are $ a day in Sao Paulo and enjoy it. That gave me the freedom of choices to do what I want to do today, not tomorrow or in the future, and I can say no to the things that I don't want to do. I have freedom to do things on my terms. I can also hang with most people when I choose to regardless cost.
