Posts: 640No board member can control another board member.
You are giving other members of this board way too much power.
As Sperto has suggested, you should just ignore if you don't like someone.

Posts: 714According to an article in the Wall Street Journal "Herd Immunity Is Over—Long Live Superimmunity, the Omicron wave will leave most people with potent and durable protection against Covid. " Here is a ling to the news article.
https://www.wsj.com/articles/herd-im...es-11642448736
I will post the concluding final paragraphs of this article just in case you do not have full access to WSJ and can't read it:
"All of this suggests that infection with Omicron is likely to stimulate potent and durable protection against Covid-19—and potentially other coronaviruses—even if it mutates to become more virulent. As Omicron rapidly spreads, people who have been vaccinated or previously infected will develop super immunity. Covid-19 will become a virus that causes cold- and sometimes flulike symptoms—annoying but rarely deadly or disruptive.
One caveat is that older people generate weaker T-cell responses and memories to infections and vaccines. They're likely to need annual booster shots. Omicron will end the pandemic by making Covid-19 endemic."

All of my gringo friends (no exception) who are in Brazil right now caught covid-19 (omicron). Even those who got 3 doses of vaccine. Some with mild symptoms, others asymptomatic (like myself) and a few with medium symptoms (the non-vaccinated ones). Among my Brazilian friends the majority caught covid-19 the last weeks.
The spreading is getting worse quickly and I guess most mongers who are going to Brazil for more than a very short time will catch covid. If catching covid is a big concern they better choose another destination for their holiday or stay at home.

The panelada I mentioned happened in Copacabana. Hardly a ghetto.

Posts: 2245With the election in November, it will be a trending topic in 2022.
I heard the panelada too, but it was drowned out by the fireworks which I watched from my apartment in barra.

Posts: 4053Regarding Bolsonaro. He just hold his New Years speech on TV. Everybody in the buildings went to their windows and made a panelada, beating pots and cursing Bolsonaro. Really impressive how much noise they managed to make. Very fun.
