On the downside, I would have won that $1 in exchange for the same more or less 2% average annual GDP growth we were getting when Trump took office but at an added cost of $2.5 Trillion and counting to the skyrocketing deficit from that legislation (that had been getting reduced), tens of thousands fewer average monthly job gains than we had before and a middling 7.5% average annual gain in the Dow since that bill was passed vs the 25% gain we had in Obama's final year in office. With the inevitable GOP Bear Market Crash in the Dow along the way just a year after it was passed.

Which is why I don't like to consider making side bets for or against U.S. economic expansion for even so much as $1. Bad juju.
Eihtooms, I hate this political back and forth on the ISGl It makes me feel like Michael Corleone in Godfather 3, "Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in!"

Yes, you should have made that Gentleman's bet, but then reminding me that you would have won is almost almost as sweet. NOT! Ha ha. I guess hindsight is 20/20. What neither of us knew at the time I proposed our little wager was that Trump was going to engage in a trade war with China. That took guts and political will. Estimates are that the tariff war lowered US GDP by .75 to 1.00 full point and we still don't know if it was worth it or not. The final stage of the accords is yet to be finalized.

I agree with you that spending is out of control. Apparently it does not matter who is in the White House or who has a majority in Congress. I find it interesting that this matters to you. Maybe there is some hope yet. (ha ha - that's a joke). But the frightening truth is the country (the world) is heading for the big one (a World Wide Depression). The good news, if you can call it that, is that this financial melt down probably won't hit until the mid '30's or 40's. Sadly, our system of governance seems incapable of avoiding it.

So forget about bad juju: Let's make a new wager and party hardy! I will bet you 1 drink at any bar of your choosing in either MNL, BKK, or Pattaya that Trump beats the Democrat Party candidate in 2020.

And this is my final post on US politics. To discuss it further on our favorite sex forum is really Stupid Shit. I won't be "pulled back in" ... again!

All I can say boys, is you are gonna have to get used to Trump because he is going to be around until 2024. Ha Ha Ha. The joke is on you.

You make my point Wicked Roger and that is we should not bring politics into this forum. You and I are a perfect example. We have never had a cross word or disagreement, yet if either one of us should bring our left / right politics into the conversation, we both could go nuclear in a few words or sentences. Current politics is just too damn divisive. You think its Trump's fault. I think it is the Socialist Left's fault. Nothing good can come from this discussion / argument. No minds are going to change. That is why it doesn't belong here. We should leave it at that and remain friendly.

I think I would rather have Trump as Prime Minister of Australia than the useless lot we have had here over the last few years. And I am not praising Trump.

    LOL.

Not me am not American, I watch from the side and wonder what those who voted for him think. I suppose like you NB think their grandma is their lover, you like someone who is lying every day to the public and acting like a dictator while the real dictators (Putin and Xi) must be having a great laugh about. His greatest achievement is polarizing the USA, making it to be the idiot of the free world all of which is good for your arch enemies LOL.

But I will let you discuss and decide that with other hicks in the Appalachians and Ozarks when the time comes LOL.

To be fair, Trump lost the popular vote.

We have all heard horror stories of workers being deducted for things beyond their control.

I had a regular whose sister worked in a pharmacy, sis received 3 k for 20 out of 21 days straight 10 to 12 hours a day, she could be deducted if she took too long in the bathroom, if she was more than 15 minutes late was docked a full day, if she missed a day was docked 2 days pay.

One of her coworkers gave an incorrect prescription, it was actually the owner / pharmacist who made the mistake but because he had to pay damages he docked her pay completely for over a year to pay for it because it was "her job to correct his mistakes". She took it because they were in a smaller town and she would never work anywhere in that town again if she had objected.

If you do not have any money or power in this place it can be hell on earth, no wonder that the better looking will cash in on their looks to fuck us for 1 to 3 k a night, that is more than a lot of them can make in a month. At some point food in the belly, for the whole family, trumps any moral reservations they may have about fucking for money.

That is also why I tend to be a little more generous, the extra 500 or 1,000 does not mean that much to me, but has allowed me to have a few pretty good and trainable regulars who come with no muss or fuss or drama.
