I'm considering taking a $1,100 gamble on PR and seeing what happens. Worst case I end up with PR travel credit for next year's trips. Actually worst case is PR flops and no money at all.

It is stupid shit in the Philippines when I want to gamble on an airlines viability just to get some Filipina pussy again.

Actually not such a bad worst case scenario. If you redeem your credit then I'm guessing there will not be a need for the MNL LAX leg. Hence your credit will be good for a couple of AU PI trips or a 1st Class upgrade.

Most of the online complaints about PI not reimbursing lost tickets are from those taking once in a life time trip or they need the money back now. This risk is irrelevant if you are happy to wait for future trips.

Of course you are assuming that you are able to leave AU.

I've done it for shorter trips and certainly don't criticize others for doing the same.

I think the shorter trips may be back on the menu sooner than I have been thinking. At the start of this year, 2022 was looking the earliest. Figures I've seen in the last few days from the success of the vaccine programs shows a rapid decline in COVID spread in the vaccinated population.

With this in mind, I started looking to book for a November conference in USA. Travel from AU to USA with QF & AA in economy will be AUD2,500. The PR quote for the same trip SYD- (MNL) -LAX (stop) LAX-MNL (stop) SYD with a one week stopover in Manila on return $1,100. Hopefully by then 'covid vaccine passports' will have some acceptance.

As long as hotel quarantine is not in place in Manila then one week in Makati would certainly get a few notches on the bedpost.

Where did I suggest flying to PI just for a dinner date? I've often said that there is nothing wrong with going just to add numerous notches to the bedpost. I've done it for shorter trips and certainly don't criticize others for doing the same. However, I've also posted that for longer or semipermanent stays this quickly becomes boring and that's when I have the dinner dates mentioned. Mostly just to break the monotony. I've already commented on only meeting destitutes and nincompoops so there is no need to repeat it here.

What "useful and entertaining information" would that be? Incessant belittling and disparaging remarks about the PI and it's girls ie the very subject of this board, or the personal abuse of anyone with different views?

Nic has already commented that the girl under discussion is well to do and does not live in the slums. Saying that 'all' pinas are idiots is equally as generic and ill informed. Nic has said one of the main attractions is that she isn't so.

Generally we are the company we choose to keep. When I'm just looking to find a cum bucket then I don't come across too many Mensa candidates and I'm fine with that. However, it's certainly not difficult to find a nice dinner companion either. Lots of golden agers are shacking up with their sweet young thing (s) in the PI. I can't think of a better way to ride into the sunset. I agree in the aggregate with you PM how ever there are some good things that I truly enjoy. I go there for work and get to know allot of real people and I don't spend my time trying to fuck brainless 20 somethings.

For me the pluses are: PP.

1. Its easier to get laid there (while not lying and not paying) than to buy a good cheeseburger. And 95% are my friends afterwards. Well put (a little hard on Jollibee).

2. There is live music everywhere and they are gifted singers. (agreed. I have head Pinay impersonators better than the originals).

3. They are friendly and warm people beyond all. I enjoy Bus trips I always make a new friend or two. Agreed. The thing is to get among the ordinary folk, away from the hamburger guzzling American whales.

4. I prefer the countryside to the city and I love watching the pace of life in it. Who doesn't? Crowds are everywhere, almost.

5. I enjoy the cost of a movie and the fact it is a big deal there moreso than here. Movies are great. I love how they get into it.

6. People watching is enjoyable. As it is everywhere but again the trick is to get away from the Yanks.

7. The fancier things are cheaper. What is fancy? It is not the place to go for fine and fancy things.

8. Its the only place I sing Karaoke and I love that. They do love their karaoke. I got moderated here for bringing hookers out to cheap karaoke bars before having a 3 some.

9. Its easier to make someone smile there? People are satisfied with less. They are not Americans. Jollibee is a big treat ffs.

I won't list the negatives as they are listed often and I have bitched before. Poverty, crowds, humidity.

There are many countries to exploit I prefer Thailand to The phils as a Tourist and soon I will be exploring other countries. One is always a tourist.
