There is a new train to Hua Hin and it's an express that takes approximately 3 1/2 hours from the new Bang Sue Train Station in Bangkok. Take the MRT to this station.

It arrives at the new HuaHin Station, which was built to accommodate this train and is adjacent to the old and classic Thai train station and also within walking distance to the center of the city. I believe the fare one way is about 300 bt. You can also find a few videos in YouTube about travelers experience riding this train.

It's more like 5 hours, I took it recently.

The real problem for people in Pattaya is the long time to get to Bang Sue.

It would make a lot more sense to arrange it so that you go to Hua-Hin from Bangkok (about two hours or less of driving if I remember correctly, can even get a regular taxi to take you if you want to keep it simple).

Arrived in Hua Hin on December 30th and stayed for a week. New Years on Soi Bentabaht was crazy, busiest I have ever seen it. But just a couple of days past New Years and it was back to normal. A few more bars have opened since my last visit a year ago. Also there were a few more young cuties working in the bars. They seem to be there just for show though. The couple of bars I was in the young cute ones were not actively pursuing customers like the seasoned pros were. Maybe just shy. Spent one night on Soi 80. Very quiet. The bar I was in had one young cutie and one fatty beside the owner. I was already with someone so didn't get to find out if the cutie was just for show there too. The asking price is still the same at 2000 Baht, but negotiable. I thought the overall quality was slightly better than last year.

I had fun walk around the massage shops towards the end of Poonsuk road. A little early, so I was the first customer. About noon there are a dozen or more aunties and grannies soliciting trade. They are fun to joke with as you pass by but no one caught my eye. I turned up Dechanuchit road and two ladies sitting out front of the shop looked interesting. Both were dressed nicely and well made up, So I chose Mickey. She was a slim, hard body with no children so she surprised me when she told me that she was 42 years old. Willing and kind, she gave me a very nice BBJ as well as a massage. The shop cost was 300 baht and Mickey's tip was 1000. She was the best that I found and I will repeat. The store is next to a jewelry shop near Tuk's tours.

If the ferry was still running I would 100% hop over to Hua Hin. But I understand it has closed and no longer makes that trip. Would chartering a boat be crazy expensive? (from Pattaya to Hua Hin and back the next day)?

YMMV of course, but unless there's a particular attraction there you want to see, I don't see any point in going there for just one day, and wasting another day going back and forth.

Huahin is only 60 miles from Pattaya across the water. There should be someone happy to fly you across in its rental plane. It takes about 30 minutes one way, 1 hour RT costing 8,000 bahts. If the plane goes down, ditch near fishing boats where they can pick you up quickly. But I don't think there should be any problem.

As to travel to Hua Hin by a chartered speedboat.

Define crazy expensive.

Its a 90-100 km trip and then return for the boat the next day.

So two days hire, plus fuel, plus crew, who would likely sleep on the boat happily.

I'd say you'd likely find someone willing to do it starting from 50-60 K baht, and upwards.

I would recommend a speedboat with two motors tho, more expensive, but less risk of breakdown.

Yes, the boat would be very expensive. The car or bus ride is about 6 or more hours one way. The bus is cheap but takes longer. Last year twice I went to Hua Hin first and planned on traveling to Pattaya for part of my trip. Never made it to Pattaya. Once you are in Pattaya I can't see you wanting to spend 6 plus hours in a car or bus just to visit Hua Hin. And for sure would not go to Hua Hin and come back the next day. Hua Hin has a better beach and is more laid back but Pattaya has more to do. When they get the high speed rail finished that will change things.

That's pretty negative if you ask me. Having never been to Hua Hin, but contemplating it for an upcoming trip, I logged onto the forum and could see that (1) there are very few posts. Which gave me an impression that there is not much going on there and (2) that yours was very negative about options. That prompted my response which you appear to have taken offence to! When you say "all the negative posts" - it was yours that prompted my comment. You mention that I complain about Pattaya and Soi 6 too. When? How? I don't think I have posted negative things about Pattaya. Ever. I have mentioned that I prefer to stay in the quieter Pratumnak. That's just a show of my ageing years! It's not a criticism of Pattaya which I love! I haven't criticised Soi 6 - nor would I. Great fun and posted about it on previous trips. Not my favourite spot (I prefer GCs in Pattaya) and I couldn't have moaned about a lack of young girls in HH as I've never been!

I totally agree with Tlito's comment that a great service / attitude 6 is more of 10 than a spinner looking 10 who is a starfish who you leave thinking was a 5.

I wondered if that's what you meant when, having made clear that you didn't see any attractive girls, "no problem, more Hua Hin riches for me". But you are not in the same boat as Tlito. He takes some of those average looking girls due to their excellent service. So he would consider them riches. You were so disappointed by Hua Hin's "riches" that you resorted to TF. That is not enjoying HH riches. Its enjoying online riches. Forced because you considered there were no local "riches" to be found!

Let me first up say sorry for misleading you, but I can see you are on track now.

I love Hua Hin, more so than Bangkok, and well Pattaya that I can tolerate.

I didn't think that sounded like me, so I have just scanned back through all my posts and found one in March where I said I was disappointed in the talent then.

I think I also said compared to how rich it had been on previous times.

But I also said in that post that I fucked well often, found two great SYT's, and that I even took a virgin ass, my favorite.

So it was a great trip still.

As to TF, I couldn't quicky find any post that I put up where I said I had used it.

I have, and had some fun using it, but it has always been an adjunct to bar hopping which I prefer.

And I often take what are very average bargirls, Joes Bar springs to mind, they are very full of heart, beer and food.

Hua Hin is definitely a shit destination to monger / punt / carouse / get ya rocks off.

So you'd be way better off staying away like all the negative posts you've read have told you.

Hua Hin definitely is no mini Pattaya, mini Bangkok, I agree, and I say thank goodness.

If you love those places, you will likely hate Hua Hin.

Hua Hin has a heart, and most of the workimg girls you will find in the bars there have character, charisma, and a heart.

They are still Thai, not hardened money spinners, drink only earners.

My bet is you'd have to look damn hard to find a no barfine, drinks only one among them.

And for those that say there are no attractive ones, no young ones, I say pfffftttt.

I never visit Thailand without a trip to Hua Hin. I noticed last time a lot more girls are drink only but I found a cute under 30 girl for LT and she was fine. Over the years I have had lots of luck with Thai beauties in Hua Hin. Twice I have had 2 girls. I remember one night walking the girls back to the room and a punter yelled to me "how did an old bloke like you score those 2 beauties " the night was amazing and the looks at breakfast were to die for. That is Hua Hin. Like a country town in Australia. With gorgeous young ladies who will make you feel like a king. I am back again soon and one of my Hua Hin girls is meeting me in Bangkok with a friend for a couple of nights.
