The biggest problem over here is the Captain cluttering up these threads with all his fiction and fantasies. I'm sure there are some who would like to believe what he posts, but its just a disservice to new members who may assume what he blabs is the truth. I don't even mind reading his crap. I'm really not sure what is wrong with that guy. KC writes one of the best trip reports on this site and the Captain calls him KC cookie, not sure what that is all about. While my profession is brain surgeon, maybe if I was a psychologist I could figure this guy out.

I have been carpooling with a couple bros for a few years. We became very close friends, sharing joys and burdens in our personal lives and providing mutual supports when necessary. Our friendships sure make life more fun and exciting.

I think that most of what Solo posted from his experience is pretty accurate. While I may disagree with some of his opinions, I am unsure why people are so bent out of shape when they come to a different conclusion than Solo.

These boards should be about sharing information. Some info certainly more solid than others. So can personally appreciate anyone attempting in good faith to provide helpful info, even if I disagree with it or find it to be poorly written, etc.

You're right. Taking a break does feel like I'm allowing the ignorant people to win. Perhaps a better approach is just ignoring ignorance. That's easier said than done. I've been amused, but highly disappointed in this thread lately. In other "stupid. " threads, there's humorous anecdotes about personal misfortunes and unusual quirks of the area. We have devolved into personal insults, who's wallet is bigger, who said what (honestly, nobody cares), and just plain anger.

I won't ever tell you what to do, how to post, or who to believe. However, I believe these are some basic understandigs in any particular thread that will help us all.

1. If the thread is "Stupid Shit in Tijuana" - keep it germaine to "Tijuana". If you like to have one in your city, create a new thread and share there.

2. Calling someone stupid, thug or other derogatory names and insults will result in further escalation and distrust.

3. MOST reports are embellished, don't take it as gospel. Enjoy the fantastic stories and take away some underlying nuggets that you can use in your next outing.

If you start seeing the same kind of postings (over and over again), you can ignore the poster (s) and read from other posters. If a tip didn't work, report about how you went about working that tip. Sometimes, it is just a matter of YMMV situation, or the approach is slightly different.

I will continue to read this thread because I believe there are tons of good information that will be provided going forward.
