Ask around, there are van taxis that go there frequently. About a year ago I paid about 40 pesos from Tijuana to Rosarito and 80 from Rosarito yo tijuana. Wish I could be of more help but there are definitely ways there, another but more expensive option is Uber which is about 15-20 dollars one way.

Try ABC bus right there at the border. I know they go to Ensenada for like 15 dls. I got to think they stop in Rosarito. Good luck! Moe!

For those interested, the Tijuana Cockfight Club has posted its August Schedule of events starting tomorrow on August 3rd.

To paraphrase your argument. So you believe most normal and decent people would find these spectacles of (boxing, Thai kickboxing, UFC, Kung Fu. . .) just plain gross. You know that (humans) are conscious creatures and causing them unnecessary pain and suffering is wrong. It's just bad karma. . .

So would your opinion be that boxing is OK or does the same logic you used for rooster fighting apply? Spectators are torturing (fill in the blank. Roosters, bulls, boxers. By watching them fight? I haven't seen a rooster fight yet, but my guess is that the roosters want to fight. If they didn't they would run and refuse to fight. From what I saw on the farm, most chickens are very brutal to each other. Chickens will attack and peck each other which is why farms often clip their beaks. If roosters want to fight, why shouldn't people watch? I see no problems with this. Did you grow up on a farm, or did you attend a government school and live in an apartment? Just curious.

Prices sound cheap. It doesn't sounds like the experiment would cost me a lot. From what I gathered LE container sounds like the spot to visit on Friday night, it also looks like it has a dance floor where some perreo could happen.

Hmmmm sounds like you are looking for the not so high class Tijuana woman. Your best bet would probably be Las Pulgas located on Revolucion between 7th and 8th st. If you are a younger guy you might like plaza zapato or container.

And if you give this a try and you get tired of rejection. Change your opening line to " excuse me can you tell me how to get to Zona Norte?

In zona centro there are numerous bars on Revo and 6 ta. The biggest club is Las Pulgas. Inside there are like 5 different salons, each of which play their own music. On weekends there usually is a cover and live band. Beers are cheap like $15 mn. Las Pulgas does attract the older crowd as well though, with plenty of patrons into their 40's and 50's. Therefore, it carries a stigma with some of the local younger chicas as a place that's somewhat uncool. A block down is a club called El Copeo. On weekends $100 mn cover and $15 beers. Live band. Not as many older folks. You can also try Plaza Zapato, which is a short cab ride away in Zona Rio. It's a plaza with maybe 30 or so small to medium sized bars. Located a couple blocks away from Plaza Zapato is probably your best chance at civie action, a club called LE Conteiner. $100 cover and $15 beer like Copeo. Pretty big, two story club with large outdoor section. Loaded with hot civies. If you want to hit something more upscale, Alebrije is your main option. It's a big club with bottle service and lots of dressed up hot civies. Everything is more expensive here obviously. Paseo Chapultec and its surroundings also have upscale options such a Mab and some other clubs which I can't remember. There is also Cavally in Zona Rio. These last 3 places are somewhat snobbier. For more casual, drunk college chicas I'd recommend LE Conteiner although it does have its fair share of douchebags you will have to contend with.

My friend took me to this bar two weeks ago and lo and behold they sell weed there. Typical bar feel but I like that I can smoke a joint and have a bucket of beers. Young crowd, just throwing out there for those who want to smoke outside of zona norte.

I'm not one to impose my feelings on another culture. And these are chickens we're talking about, so it's hard to get too worked up. There are bigger problems in the world.

But, having said that, I will agree that the chickens in question had no say in the matter. Yes, they are bred to fight. And roosters, and many other animals, fight for supremacy so that they can be the ones to mate. But, none of these roosters were born with stainless steel razor blades on their feet. When birds, and many other species, fight, they do it until one gives up. The loser goes off to lick his wounds and fight another day. Not so with these roosters. They fight to the death, and in all the fights I saw it was obvious after the first round who the winner was going to be. But they just picked up the bird, tried to get him more alert, and then they'd start the next round. The bird who lost the first round was usually defenseless and got killed by the second or third round. Frankly, I thought it rather needlessly cruel.

I also have mixed feelings about bullfights, after having seen them in Madrid. But there, at least the bull has a chance, and one of the toreadors got seriously gored that day.

So, if one wants to see a cockfight, by all means go. I found it disturbing and completely unnecessary and I have my doubts about a culture who thinks it's a great pastime. I won't be attending any more, but everybody is free to do as he pleases.

Oh, and I know where food comes from. By law, in the States at least, all animals must be butchered in a humane way, usually stunned and then killed. There are religious exceptions. But that's a far cry from subjecting them to spectacles for sport. Ask Michael Vick about what the public, in general, thinks of dogfighting.

I think the divide here is between country boys who are used to raising and killing chickens with an axe then plucking the feathers then cutting up the bird by hand for cooking and city slickers who think milk comes from a factory in paper cartons and chicken comes from KFC in paper buckets.

I have always lived in urban areas, so I don't know much about "country living".

For example, I didn't know that KFC restaurants located in rural areas were banned from using paper buckets.
