I've been to LC at least 400 times in the past 12 years. And never have I paid HK prices for drinks. If a LC mesero would have tried to charge $4 for a beer it would have immediately triggered a rip-off alarm and I would have promptly refused the beers and sent him away. I got to say the post-covid price increases are ridiculous. CC 33% increase. AB 15.4%. TB 50%. LC 100%. It's only a matter of time before HK realizes they serve a better product than CC and AB and raise prices accordingly. Anybody know if MQ / GP / LG / LV / Carreta have hiked their prices?

Their web site lists $2 special only from 8 AM to 8 PM. But I went in Chavelas last Saturday 2 PM and asked. 2 meseros independently confirmed Tecates were $4 in the afternoon, same as HK.

But I was in La Zona yesterday, Saturday 2 PM. 2 different meseros told me Tecates are $4 and premium beers $5, same prices as HK as I remember it. Looks like that $2 beer special is old and no longer valid. It makes no sense that 2 bars next to each other, owned by the same people, but one sells beers at half price all the time.

Instead of a crude and erroneous broad claim that Chavelas' beers are $2 all the time, guys who claim $2 beers should confirm if the deal was ever valid, or is still valid, and qualify it with the exact brands, time and date it applies.

Also, you said a few posts down which started all this that "Chavelas had always charged the same prices for drinks and fichas as Hong Kong. "Don't try to go off topic by talking about you were there yesterday or current status because that's irrelevant.
