This is not a bad idea. I used to support the site in the past through voluntarily re-subscribing annually. You could do that up until about 2014 or 2015, but after that I believe the system started having issues. Here's an old post describing the problem.

Anyway if I could voluntarily make an anonymous donation and not jump through hoops with bitcoin or whatever to do it, I would. Anonymous is better given what happened with Adult Friend Finder, where subscribers' names became public through a hack.

ISG is already free.

The membership with more features is a paid one.

Just like when you use, lets say, Tinder or Bumble. Theyre free. You want more features? You have to pay a fee. As simple as that.

Donation model? I don't know any site like this one which could survive by just donations.

Surely ISG could do a simple bank transfer like any other company. Done in 1-2 days like other adult sites.

Haha. I work in web-dev; it's not trivial, but yeah, it shouldn't be that hard either, I agree. However, this particular type of site can be kryptonite for most payment processors and lots of legal BS comes flying at you, I'd guess. I've done payments and fintech work before, but nothing in this space so I don't have personal experience, but I've read it's really hard to get payments for some types of sites. A bit like legal weed in the US. It's legal at the state level, but no bank will touch it, so they are still all cash-only business, which is crazy to me (yes, it's because of the federal banking regulations, etc).

But come on, this is for a forum that still isn't protected using SSL which in 2023 is free and ubiquitous these days (look up letsencrypt.com), so there's little excuse for that, and so many other things (php still? Really?) But hey, maybe the site admin is living the life and doesn't need to cater to everyone's needs, LOL. I can't blame him, who knows?
