In previous posts I wrote about how supplements of vitamin K2 MK4 are synthetically produced and are proven by studies to not work, which confirms my personal experience. Supplements of vitamin K2 MK7 are naturally produced using fermentation with Natto bacteria and are proven to work, which also confirms my personal experience.

I had a similar experience with vitamin A supplements. They didn't seem to do me any good. Then I read an article by someone who was getting their levels tested while supplementing and confirmed the synthetic vitamin A supplements don't work. Then they used natural food sources and their vitamin A levels did increase. They came across the idea from the book "Supplements Exposed: The Truth They Don't Want You to Know About Vitamins, Minerals, and Their Effects on Your Health" by Brian Clement.

There are two main food sources of vitamin A. Animal foods provide vitamin A in the form of retinol. Plant foods provide beta carotene which the body must convert to retinol. The only animal food that has adequate amounts of vitamin A is animal liver. For me, the taste is unpalatable. It is also possible to consume excess amounts that become toxic. Since the body converts beta carotene (provitamin A) to retinol, it is safer to consume. The body won't convert more than is required. Since most people don't eat liver or colored vegetables, my theory is that vitamin A deficiency is common. The author of the article who was getting their levels tested noted that during that period of time they noticed the scale for "normal levels" was reduced. They believe that was done to reflect diminishing average levels in the general population.

I was shocked when I read an article that said that cod liver oil and other fish liver liver oil supplements are not made from fish livers. This is due to government regulations that require a set ratio of DHA and EPA content. It is also for providing standard doses per capsule. Fish liver oil supplements are actually made from fish body oil and then synthetic vitamin A is added. You will need to eat the actual liver to get real retinol.

Beta carotene is most abundant in carrots, sweet potatoes and green leafy vegetables. It is absorbed more effectively if the vegetables are cooked. It is fat soluble, so absorption may improve if consumed with some fat. Juicing can also improve absorption. I use carrot juice as my natural source of vitamin A, since it has the most beta carotene. It has improved my general health but not my erections. It is easy to find in the grocery store. If you have problems with sugar you can buy fermented carrot juice or ferment it yourself using probiotics. Just open a capsule of lactobacillus probiotic and add it to the carrot juice. Leave it on the counter for several days until it has a vinegar taste. Some stores carry Biotta brand carrot juice that is partially lacto fermented. You can also cook it in a pan on the stove to improve absorption. Of course you could also just cook carrots and eat them.

I believe synthetic vitamin E doesn't work either. I use wheat germ oil capsules for that. Some people prefer palm oil for vitamin E. Vitamin D3 supplements are made from sheep's wool and do work. Vitamin C supplements are synthetically produced, but they do seem to work since they are made from corn starch. Vitamin B12 supplements are made using bacterial fermentation and they work. In my experience, all mineral supplements work. The type of mineral supplement only affects the amount absorbed by the body.

Porn and masturbation can cause ED even in young, healthy men. The penis wasn't designed for frequent use. The loss of sensitivity from overuse can make it difficult to maintain an erection during intercourse. This is similar to the problem some men have with sex while wearing a condom. The lower sensitivity makes it difficult to maintain an erection. If you combine masturbation with wearing a condom, the loss of sensitivity can be severe. The female condom allows the man to have more sensation than a male condom. It can be helpful in this regard.

A randomized, double blind human clinical trial conducted by researchers at Baylor College of Medicine reveals that supplementation with GlyNAC a combination of glycine and N-acetylcysteine improves many age-associated defects in older humans and powerfully promotes healthy aging. This is relevant because until now, there have been no solutions toward improving many of these age-related declines in people.

I bought some NAC and Glycine from Life Extension Foundation (LEF) since it didn't cost that much. I take 1 NAC and 1 Glycine capsule with breakfast and and again at dinner, along with Vitamin K, Magnesium and Vitamin C. Cheaper than going to a hospital with a heart attack. See:

What Are the Benefits of NAC Supplements? https://www.lifeextension.com/wellne...ac-supplements.
Glutathione is the body's master antioxidant. Optimizing levels can improve health and erectile function. It is synthesized in the body from three amino acids: cysteine, glutamic acid, and glycine. Normally there is sufficient supply of glutamic acid and glycine but cysteine is often deficient, limiting production. That is why supplementing cysteine increases glutathione. N-acetyl-L-cysteine (NAC) is a stable form of supplemental cysteine.

Another approach to increasing glutathione is to supplement vitamin C, which recycles used glutathione.

    https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8570360/

"Vitamin C helps reprocess glutathione by converting oxidized glutathione back to its active form. A study by Johnston et al indicated that vitamin C supplementation (500 MG / day) maintains reduced glutathione concentrations in the blood and improves the overall antioxidant protection capacity of the blood. The results of the study indicate that vitamin C supplementation at an amount obtainable by diet significantly raised red blood cell GSH, by 47 percent per day, in healthy adults. Another study by Lenton et al showed that vitamin C supplements increase glutathione in human lymphocytes. Subjects who took 500 to 1,000 MG of vitamin C daily for 13 weeks experienced an 18-percent increase of glutathione in white blood cells".

    https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/...5.2005.00528.x

"our data provide evidence that red blood cell GSH (glutathione) is lower in patients with ED and even lower when associated with poorly controlled diabetes. This work suggests that GSH administration is a possible complementary therapeutic approach to the treatment of male ED, especially in case of failure of other pharmacological therapies, such as phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors".

    https://advancedmolecularlabs.com/bl...ance-nutrients

"Vitamin C and N-acetylcysteine (NAC) are antioxidants that enhance the function of polyphenols in the body. Men with erectile dysfunction (ED) show higher levels of free radicals and lower levels of antioxidants than men without ED. Antioxidants such as vitamin C and N-acetylcysteine (NAC) combined with the B vitamin folic acid can improve erection capacity in aging men. Vitamin C, NAC and folic acid work synergistically together with polyphenols and the amino acid L-citrulline in the production of nitric oxide".

    https://todayspractitioner.com/sexua...-nitric-oxide/

"A key mediator of blood vessel function is nitric oxide (NO), a tiny gas molecule produced in the blood vessels, nerves, and immune cells. Best known for its role in maintaining blood pressure, NO also mediates penile erections, supports healthy blood flow to the brain, enhances muscle oxygen use during exercise, and helps protect against infections".

"Unfortunately, NO production declines with age; hence, we see an increase in both hypertension and ED with age. According to NO researcher and expert Nathan Bryan, PhD, erectile difficulties typically precede the increase in blood pressure, and should serve as an ominous sign of potential worse problems to come. Although not their primary mechanism of action, phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors that are commonly used for ED also have been demonstrated to enhance erectile function directly by increasing NO production".

"The amino acids L-citrulline and L-arginine both serve as "food" to produce NO from. In men with ED, both of these amino acids have clinical studies showing they may be of benefit. In a placebo-controlled trial, L-citrulline, at a dose of 1. 5 g / day, was found to significantly improve both erection hardness scores as well as intercourse frequency after one month of daily supplementation".

"One factor that potentiates the impact of these amino acids on circulating levels of NO is the presence of a sulfur-containing compound like glutathione or N-acetylcysteine (NAC). Additional antioxidants like ascorbic acid (vitamin C) help release the NO that was bound to glutathione, recapturing the NO that the body has already produced".

One question. Do you know of any downside to the continual daily taking of K2? Are there any risks that you are aware of? Or is it just not helpful after the initial period of decalcification?

BTW, I recently had my first CAC test (coronary artery calcification, I think) done and got a zero so I was very pleased with that. Any thoughts on the efficacy of CAC screening?

    Thanks again John!
I don't know anything about the CAC test. All I know is my personal experience with vitamin K2 MK7 and the research I've read about it.

I'm not aware of any dangers to continuous consumption of K2. People in Japan who eat Natto must be getting a large amount on a regular basis. I haven't heard of any problems from that. I did get some uncomfortable tingling in the hands and feet that subsided after stopping K2 and the process slowed. It isn't necessary to keep taking it once you have achieved the clean teeth effect, unless it stops, since K2 is stored in the liver. In my case I only took one bottle (60 capsules?) of K2 MK7 over a period of two months. I haven't taken any since, though I have started eating natural food sources like duck fat and butter. Years later the clean teeth effect is still working. That indicates that the natural process of removing excess calcium from soft tissues is still working. Keep in mind that although the process is working doesn't necessarily mean your arteries are all clear. It took a lifetime to clog the arteries and it could take years to unclog them, depending on your personal circumstances.

I'm surprised that some people are getting good results after taking it for only two weeks. I suspect that is due more to magnesium and zinc, which can have a quicker impact. It took a lot longer for me. I did get some improvement in erections after taking vitamin D3 for one month, but most of my improvement was from the K2. After two weeks I got the clean teeth effect. After two months I got tingling in my hands and feet due to large amounts of calcium being released from the arteries. This might or might not happen to you. At that point I stopped taking K2 and the tingling was reduced. Therefore the decalcification process will likely be faster if you keep taking K2, but it will put more strain on your magnesium and zinc reserves. Three months after I started taking K2 I started to get morning wood again, which I hadn't had in a few years. Then I started to get spontaneous erections. This was all a gradual process. In all it took three years to get the total effect. In that time I reversed about 30 years of decline in erectile performance.

During that time I noticed I was more prone to getting muscle cramps unless I took a lot of magnesium. The calcium that is released from the walls of the arteries must be removed from the blood and excreted through the kidneys into the urine. That process uses up magnesium. The other thing I noticed is that my zinc levels were getting low. I noticed getting a weak sense of smell and taste. Then I took zinc and these senses returned. I also noticed that when these senses weakened, the clean teeth effect also got weak. Then when I took zinc the clean teeth effect returned. Even if you stop taking K2 supplements, you will probably still need to take magnesium and zinc as the decalcification process continues. How long this takes depends on how much plaque you had in your arteries. Once it is all removed, things will return to normal.

Vitamin D3 is converted in the body into the active form. This process uses uses up magnesium. This is why you should always take magnesium with vitamin D3. However, the D3 will be converted within a few days. It won't be a continuous drain on your magnesium reserves the way decalcification is.

Magnesium, zinc and vitamin D are all involved in hundreds of body processes. A deficiency would result in reduced health. Resolving a deficiency with supplements should bring health closer to optimal levels. The main processes the body uses K2 for are mineralization of the bones and decalcification of the soft tissues.

    K2 Long Term?

Thanks again John Dough for all of the well researched information. I have taken a couple of bottles now of K2 and have definitely noticed the smooth teeth effect, it was quite pronounced.

Currently working on eliminating my masturbation / porn habit. When I have gone a week without masturbating and then had sex the difference is dramatic. Good, hard erection with no loss of hardness during sex and much, much greater sensitivity. Reaching orgasm has been an issue for me but when I abstain from masturbating it becomes very easy to climax. So I think you are very correct in saying that cutting out masturbation is fundamental in improving your performance.

Before I took vitamin K2 MK7 I had lots of plaque on my teeth. When I ran my tongue over my teeth, they felt rough and bumpy. I used a very stiff bristled toothbrush because the soft ones didn't make any difference. During my visits to the dental office for teeth cleaning, the dental hygienist had to work hard to scrape off the plaque. After I took the K2 for about two weeks, suddenly my teeth felt smooth against my tongue, even if I didn't brush them. The dental hygienist mentioned that I had less plaque than before. If your teeth were always smooth with no plaque, you wouldn't notice any difference from taking K2. That could be the case if you already had enough vitamin K2 in your diet. If your teeth do get rough feeling and then smoother after you brush them, you still need more K2. You could try taking a different brand if the one you're taking isn't working after three or four weeks. Even if your K2 levels are good, you might not get the clean teeth effect if your zinc levels are much too low. Very low zinc levels can make you lose your sense of smell, or at least make it weaker. If you suddenly start noticing the smells around you after taking zinc, your levels were very low. If your levels of vitamin K2 and zinc are both good, you won't feel the need to ever brush your teeth.

50 MG of zinc is a good dose to take for a month or two to increase your levels, but it is too much to take every day for years. I suggest taking about 10 to 15 MG per day if continuing to take it long term. Alternatively, you could take 50 MG but only take it twice per week or else take it daily for a few months and then stop for several months before taking it again. Your body stores zinc in the muscles for future use. It is the second most important mineral to supplement after magnesium.

I took vitamin D3 at 2,000 iu per day for one month before I started to notice an improvement in maintaining an erection during sex. It can take a lot longer than that to get your levels up to optimum. After you get your levels of vitamin K2 up, it can take a few months before you start to notice improved erections. It takes a long time to clean out the arteries. If you get the clean teeth effect, you are making progress. If not, keep taking K2 MK7 longer or try a different brand.

One bottle of K2 is enough if you get the clean teeth effect. Then you have to wait for the arteries to be cleaned out to get the erection benefits. One bottle of D3 is probably not enough. Keep taking it. Centrum 50+ has a good amount of zinc for daily maintenance, but if you are low with watery semen, consider also taking a separate zinc for a month or two. The problem I have with Centrum 50+ is that it has over 200 MG of calcium in it. That will negate the benefits of vitamin K2 and magnesium. If you can find a multi vitamin without calcium, that would be better. Calcium kills.

Is your partner the same person all the time or do you have other partners. What I have found is that if the female turns you on or you've really wanted her I'll keep my erection and it won't fade at all. But if the female doesn't do it for me that is when I lose the erection and I put it down to a sort of mental block that you have to get rid of. This isn't only your problem but millions of guys have it. To get to the bottom of it isn't easy because you not only feel you've let the female down but yourself too. I am now into my second 60 tab bottle of K2 and D3 plus magnesium and also a multi vitamin Centrum 50+. In my case it took longer than 90 days because I relapsed a few times. It was a difficult addiction to overcome. It's more like I tapered off. I started to notice improved erections after about two weeks but the full effect does take about 90 days straight. The sensitivity definitely returned. That was the first step in my recovery. Then I worked on unclogging my arteries.

I would just ask your or a pharmacist. I have used Trimix with good results and no mixing but needs to be refrigerated. Maybe the Quadmix is better so please share your results.

You may need to squirt the mixed solution into a clean sterile container and then draw into your injection syringe. If you can pull the plunger out and reinsert it then you can squirt from the large into the small one for injecting.

I have reversed about 30 years of decline in erectile function with vitamin K2 MK7 and magnesium. Getting your magnesium muscle storage levels up will make you feel 30 years younger, in terms of increased flexibility and mobility. I'm still working on making that 40 years younger.

Some of what we consider to be the natural aging process is actually just nutritional imbalance or deficiency. We consume too much calcium and not enough magnesium. Calcium is the number one cause of death worldwide. It clogs the arteries resulting in death by heart attack. One study showed 97% of subjects tested were deficient in vitamin K2.

The effects of nutrition on health are studied more in livestock than in humans. A good example is gray hair. It is well known that copper deficiency causes gray hair or wool in animals. It does the same thing in humans. How many old people have gray hair? You may say you don't care about hair color, but copper has many other functions in the body.

    https://u.osu.edu/sheep/2019/10/15/c...ep-and-cattle/

"Copper is an essential trace element for animals needed for body, bone and wool growth, pigmentation, healthy nerve fibers, and white blood cell function. Causes: low copper levels in plants due to a lack of copper in fertilizer".

    http://ecoursesonline.iasri.res.in/m...w.php?id=53593

"A deficiency of copper impairs the animal's ability to absorb iron leading to anemia, Deficiency of copper causes: Poor growth, Bone disorders, gastro-intestinal disturbances, Infertility, Depigmentation of hair and wool, Lesions in the brain stem and spinal cord, 'stringy' or 'steely' wool, sudden death due to rupture of major blood vessels. Copper deficiency also leads to reproductive problems in cattle".

    https://www.redenhair.com/en/blog/th...-grey-hair-n53

"Copper is a vital component of melanin, the natural dark pigment that gives the skin, hair and eyes their colour. Melanin can only be produced by melanocytes in the presence of the enzyme tyrosinase, and it is precisely copper that catalyses this enzymatic reaction. Copper increases the levels of melanin and collagen in the body. A piece of research published in the journal Biological Trace Element Research in 2012, showed the link between a deficiency of this mineral and greying hair".

"Copper (Cu) is an essential trace element in both humans and animals. The human body only contains approximately 100 mg of Cu, so it is required in small quantities. As a transition metal, it is a cofactor in many enzymatic reactions and in addition to its role in iron metabolism, it is also involved in many other biological processes, including antioxidant defence, neuropeptide synthesis and the immune function".

Just as calcium and magnesium must be kept in balance, copper and zinc balance each other. If taking a supplement, it is a good idea to take a balanced supplement that contains both zinc and copper. Men need more zinc than women, since some is lost every time we ejaculate. Other trace minerals are depleted as we age. I like the trace mineral supplement from Dr. Berg.

Weak ejaculation is caused by prostate calcification. The K2 and magnesium will fix this, but it will take time, possibly years. If you continue to get the clean teeth effect, you are making progress. Excess calcium turns your body to stone, as shown on the bottom link.

    https://www.vinmec.com/en/news/healt...-it-dangerous/

"Prostate calcification is a disease with a high incidence in middle-aged men. The disease can progress seriously, easily leading to complications of prostatitis, urinary tract obstruction, seriously affecting the quality of life and sex life".

"Prostate calcification may be associated with conditions such as prostate enlargement, prostatitis or prostate cancer".

"According to specialists, the symptoms of this disease include: Weak urine stream, difficulty urinating, painful urination, burning when urinating, frequent urination, frequent urination, or nocturia; Unusual pain in the abdomen and groin; Pain in the perineum, rectum and penis; Have symptoms of discomfort in the penis, testicles; After sex, pain when ejaculating, semen turns pale yellow, only flowing out, not ejaculating as strongly as before".

    https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5100155/

"Prostatic calcification and prostatic calculus formation is commonly seen in adult population with chronic prostatitis. We are presenting here one such case (60-year-old male) in which almost whole glandular prostate was converted into stone. Prostatic calcifications are mostly found in the cephalad portion of the gland. They may also be identified in the region of verumontanum and the ejaculatory duct".

My understanding is that this has a different mode of action than vitamin K2. It removes a different type of material. Arterial plaque from K2 deficiency is composed of 95% calcium and 5% cholesterol. Vitamin K2 activates osteocalcin for bone mineralization and activates matrix GLA protein to inhibit vascular calcification.

Natto Serrapeptase sounds like it would be more useful to prevent blood clots, a common cause of strokes. Strokes due to blood clots are sometimes caused by uric acid crystals from eating too much sugar, alcohol or meat (read the book "Drop Acid" by David Perlmutter). Calcium clogged arteries are another cause of strokes.

For people like me who have difficulty eating bad tasting foods like Natto, vitamin K2 MK-7 supplements are made from Natto bacteria fermentation.
