Hot Cabos appears to have disappeared. Just stopped posting updates on Whatsapp and stopped responding to texts. The website no longer appears to be regularly updated as it used to be. Seems a bit scary.

Yeah, Hot Cabos isn't the only one that's disappeared. This is a bit hard to explain, but basically many of the girls would go from agency to agency, in order to get new clients and make more money for themselves. When most of an agency's regulars had sampled a girl's goods, their income would slow and they'd go up the street to the next agency. When they've worked at them all, they go back to the beginning and start over.

Over the years, I've gotten to know many of the girls and agencies. Near as I can tell all of those girls and agencies are gone. The strange part is, there's one agency still posting ads on mileroticos. They've been posting for at least a year or two, but I've never contacted them because none of the girls I knew ever worked with them. The number is in my phone and I've almost contacted them a few times, but there's always been a slightly better / more "known / trusted" option. Out of curiosity, I did some Googling. Mexican News out of La Paz suggests that one of the cartels has been threatening all the independent agencies. They are spreading videos via social media showing torture of independent agency owners and their girls. One showed a man being whipped on his bare behind, with girls being slapped on their heads and another girl crying with a gun to her head. One of the articles mention possible murder, but I don't get the sense there's been any murder in LOS Cabos. Just a lot of scare tactics to run the independent agencies out of town. This further suggests any remaining working girls are now working through a cartel and maybe even by force (suggestions inferred from the Mexican news)..

I recently was in Cabo for a weekend, not to hobby but figured as I was there, might as well see what was out there. Answer is not a ton, at least not at reasonable prices for somebody who doesn't speak Spanish.

This is my third trip to the lower Baja and will stay at a funky but friendly and reasonably priced hotel / guest house in Cabo San José. In Todos Santos, I have a friend in nearby Pescadero where I will stay. There are plenty of room options in LaPaz as well. On my last trip, I went to Balandra beach and it was quite nice though this time I want to try Isla Espíritu and hopefully snorkel with the whale sharks. I also visited Cabo Pulmo and camped though had a car that time as I drove down from US. This time I am flying. My first Baja visit was for a wedding in Cabo San Lucas and stayed at the Westin on that strip with all the fancy hotels. Very expensive and equally boring.

Hopefully, that strip club on the outskirts of Cabo San José still exists for some entertainment as last time I skipped right through Cabo San Lucas. I don't like the vibe there and it does not sound from your comments that it has improved at all.

Todos Santos has a lot going on. There are even some new interesting businesses opening in Cerritos. Obviously San Jose and San Lucas are the biggest towns, with no lack of interesting things to do, places to eat, etc. Just check Trip Adviser for the kinds of things you're interested in, to learn more.

It'll probably be incredibly hot in October, but that can make for warmer, clearer waters and better tee times, if golf is your thing.

Ultimately, I suppose I don't know. My suspicion is if you begin the conversation in Spanish, you'll get the Mexican rate in pesos. Keep it short and to the point. If you present yourself as a tourist gringo, in English, you'll get the tourist gringo rate. Having a US Cell phone likely doesn't help, as they know you're not a Mexican. You can always haggle and just say that you're willing to pay $1500 or upwards of $2000 per hour, but you run the risk of being ignored. Alternately, they might say no, but it seems silly to me that they would. In general, the more you can present yourself as a Spanish speaking local, the better your odds at a better price.
