The 4 see. Punta Petempich is what the casa gives out as a reference point as the street is strangely numbered. Houses were added after the street was numbered. If you are on Chichén Itzá and headed down Punta Petempich you will clearly see number 4 on the left just past the intersection. The house is actually 12 and is a small White House 2 doors down from 4. There is a power pole just to the left of the entrance to this house. 2 houses further down is number 6 so it's quite confusing. They charge 1200 for 1 hour of the typical service provided at any casa for the most part.

Found a casa near the bus station, prices are 700/30, 1000/45, 1300/1 HR or "promo" 500/15 min. They are all one-shot deals though.

Made a short trip to Cancun. It's officially too ridiculous now. Mexican services at American prices, and I don't just mean the hobby.

First, the good. There's an automated passport check facility at the airport, going through it is a breeze, takes about a minute and I am out.

I stayed downtown and didn't go to the hotel area. The prices for downtown hotels basically at the pre-covid levels, or a little higher. No biggie.

Oxxo now sells its own brand of sim cards, the card costs 29 pesos, a refill of 50 pesos buys some gigabytes of Internet for 7 days, and it's very easy to buy.

Now, the bad. Everything else is very expensive, and with the peso getting strong (about 17 pesos to usd) this makes Cancun prices.

Cup of latte is about 50-60 Mexican, food at the restaurants is 100-150, and even water at Oxxo seems a little more expensive. Though this could be just my general unhappiness coming across.

Mary's has a new price, they are trying for US $120 for their basic service but will settle for 1500 Mexican. When I was there, the selection was disappointing but doable. Of course, even licking a titty is not allowed without surcharge. BBBJ is 1000 extra. And they ask for tips. Big thanks to the generous tippers for ensuring that the Gringo pricing lives on.
