Just got back from a week in Cancun. Here's the lowdown on Rama.

First of all, here's the location. Take the bus headed north. Pay close attention to where you are, because if you get off too soon (like me) then you'll have a long, hot walk ahead of you. When you get to around km. 8 or so, you'll be past most of the big high-rise hotels. Perk up.- you're close. You'll get to a section of the road where there's nothing but a golf course on either side of the road. It's all greenery, no hotels. Up ahead, you'll see a big green street sign on a pole stretching over the road. It says "Pok Ta Pok" (I guess that's the name of a major cross-street). PRESS the button to signal the driver to stop.- the bus stop is literally about 10 feet past the Pok Ta Pok intersection. Don't miss it or the bus will wind up taking you way past Rama, and you'll have to backtrack on foot a long way. Get off at the bus stop, and walk on a short distance further. Rama is located in a big orange building that houses a bakery on the first floor. Take the stairs to the second floor, and you're there. Just look for the screen door.

So I get there, and just like the other reports say, I'm greeted by a wrinkled old woman who looks like she is 100 years old. Behind her is a really cute chick. The woman explains: "Blow job cost you 60. Whole sex cost you 120. " I hesitate, and she says: "Whole sex with girl, not with me. " (Glad we got that cleared up! )

I go into a room with the chick and she locks the door. Cute face, very nice body.- including an ass you could set your coffee cup on. She only speaks a few words of English. Got back from Cancun and had a great time. Thanks for all the info and the directions from earlier, posts are accurate. I got a chance to get away and headed to Rama Spa. Saw the very old lady and yes she is still alive. Had a girl name Jen. I give her a 7 on looks and 8 on the body. $.20 for fs. I give her a 7 on performance.
Other than my trip to Rama I really enjoyed the night life and the beach.

I go to Cancun about 4 times a year to take the bus to Merida. Perhaps the createst mongering city in the Yucatan! In Cancun there was a recent changing of the city government that shut down all the strip clubs in the city center. First, ask the cab driver to take you to Calle 63 or 65. Case de citas/brothels. They're candy stores, however most are only open during the day. At night, walk north (away from downtown) the bus station until you come to a major intersection. Uxel and Portello? (I'm too lazy to look it up) Anyway from there turn Left onto another major street Yxumelluez (Again, too lazy to look it up) and the street is full of streetwalkers, but most are only very late at night until the wee hours of the morning. There are also several great restaurants. Prices are under $ 50 USD.

The 4 hr bus trip to Merida is well worth it. The city is beautiful and very middle class and well educated. There is a suberb outside the city called Kamasin. Kamasin is sin city! It' only about 1-2 miles square but backed full of strip clubs. There are also a couple adults only hotels designed for sex. One club I recommend is La Iguana. It's a working class club with some great girls and prices. Just a visit to see the set up is worth it.

I'm going to Cancun next week and it seems like i won't be looking for any action due to high prices. I might check out rama and see what happens. I will let you all know if I find anything good.

If anyone has any suggestions, that will be great.

Taking a vacation there in Cancun, all I've read here is the mongering basically sucks. Too much money. Any recommendations?

Anyways, going there to relax. If anybody got any good tips it would be appreciated. Will be trying the Rama massage and be posting a report in a couple weeks.

Plaza 21 is a group of strip clubs and a motel on the outskirts of Cancun. This is not unlike the "zonas" or boystowns you find in some smaller Mexican cities. What's different about this place, it's a big rip-off. I went there with a Mexican business associate and a couple of his friends. We got there early, about 8:00 PM, and I think the first place we went to was Black Jacks.

O.K., there was one gringo (me) and three Mexicans. The cover was 250 pesos per person, which they immediately waived for the Mexicans. But there was no way the gringo was going to avoid paying -- we argued over this about 15 minutes, with no luck. Inside there were maybe 5 or 6 women, the best of which was a 7. To save money we decided to buy a bottle. As best as I can remember, a half a bottle of scotch was around 3200 pesos, but we negotiated the price down to 2000. But before paying we decided to check out the other places.

So we head over to the place next door. There was no cover there, and we could buy half a bottle of whiskey for 1200 pesos (great deal huh?). Plus there were more women. We're served our bottle and immediately four chicas converge on our table, followed by four chica drinks. I tell the waiter to bring the bill -- I don't want any nasty surprises. So I'm presented with a 3100 pesos tab -- 1200 for the bottle, 270 per chica drink, a few cokes or soda waters at ridiculous prices (1500 pesos plus), and a 300 peso service charge. I was pissed but figured hey, let's it's water under the bridge -- we might as well have a good time and leave. Later though somehow 4 more chica drinks appear, I think maybe because my business associate ordered them. We leave the club a couple of hours later and I'm 450 dollars poorer.

I couldn't get laid there because I was with the other guys, but was told the cost is 2000 pesos. Given the quality of the women that's a lot -- I've never paid that much in Mexico for women who looked like these women. The stripper I was talking with said she doesn't have sex with men at the club, and earns enough from the drinks to get by. She said she gets 100 pesos out of a 270 peso drink price, and 100 pesos for a 200 peso table dance.

I poked my head into the other clubs in the back of the complex around 10:30 PM. This was on a Sunday night, which is usually a reasonably good night in Mexican zonas, but the other clubs were totally dead.

This place is a long way from the Zona Hotelera, the area on the beach where the hotels are, and a rip off -- not recommended.

If you are a single/unattached guy wanting to do some heavy duty mongering, don't even think about Cancun. DR and a hundred other places will meet your needs far better and Cancun is quite expensive as well. But if you are going with some people, family, etc, then you can enjoy the sun, all inclusive food and drinks and then sneak out for an hour or two every day and get some action. For a family vacation, I would consider Cancun one of the best places in the world, but again if you are just going there exclusively for mongering, don't waste your time and money.
If you are going, just get a hotel/flight package at an all inclusive place, your hotel costs (including all your meals) will definitely come out to below 100 dollars a day as long as of course you don't mind not staying at some type of big name 4 or 5 star hotel.

Too jaded, I don't think you'd have a problem finding a room. I booked one last week, in a higher price range, but there looked to be a number of hotels with rooms left, including in $100 range. Try www.tripadvisor.com --plug in the dates and the price range and you should find some, and the hotel reviews on that site are usually pretty good. I suspect DR would be better like you say if you're going for the women.

Good luck finding a hotel or motel, mexicans celebrate anos nuevo also and Cancun is packed, both hotel zone and centro. Even if you speak spanish, the locals believe all norte americonos are rich. $100, good luck, the pretty ones know what others will give.

Can anyone recommend a decent hotel in the $100 range that is central to the action? I did a thread search but no places were mentioned, and there are hundreds listed on the intarweb.

If someone can at least mention a few decent ones they've seen; this is my 1st time in CUN. I plan to be there for a week or so arriving on the 31st, hopefully I'll find a chica to kick off 2008 with, make a new year's resolution, and then break it with her sister.
