I think stepping back from the narrative that is pushed would be prudent. A repeal of Roe v Wade would not straight out outlaw abortion. It just removes constitutional protection / judicial precedent and leaves it up to the individual 50 states to decide their own policies, which I am always a fan. Despite all the hoopla in popular messaging, this action would not lead to the federal government "infringing on rights," it just puts the ball back in the States' courts, pun intended.

And let's not romanticize Roe v Wade, it was a bit of a stretch in constitutional interpretation as from a purely legal perspective, it injected a lot of non legal provisions such as arbitrarily only protecting 1st trimester abortions but not after that. Pretty sure the judges of the 1970's didn't have the scientific ability to judge when during the gestational period a woman's right to decide became less important than a fetus's right to live.

The 14th Amendment allows for privacy and against intrusions in the same way that it overturns state laws against interracial marriages and that that affirms school segregation.
