Even when feeling threatened but without direct criticism, he quickly mentions dicks, bikes, and cars. The slightest possibility of another person's comments being true are always instantly dismissed without the slightest hint of self reflection or consideration. And as we have all seen, he always goes on the attack against his criticiser with an attempt to devalue something superficially observed about their background, most often nationality and race. These are all strategies to protect the illusion.

But he goes further, he seems to actively create the illusion and is not just passively reactive. Notice he chooses interests where he has greater control, free from genuine interaction with others where reminders of inadequacy may present themselves. For instance, observe that he prefers individual activities such as cycling and driving fast on highways where no active competition are involved. He has closed the door to losing which would trigger emotions of inadequacy. He controls feedback from the opposite sex by only interacting with paid sex workers, preventing authentic negative feedback. He even chose a field, construction, where there are few normal women. And Penis size, that's not something often seen by other men to actually ever receive criticism. He only gets feedback from paid sex workers. Siblings or alive family members are never mentioned so it seems that he has also removed what would the greatest source of genuine criticism for most people. These observations did not manifest by coincidence.

It's rare to see this manifestation of an adjustment disorder persist this late in life. In a way, one could say that indeed he is quite special and significant.
