They are totally bipartisan on money, power, payoffs and ensuring there is no effective capital gains tax, and expert at getting people to confuse possibility with probability. Ah yes, you basically listed states that were / are the main ports of entry for Europeans back in February and March and before social mitigation and appropriate standards of care were developed. What has happened since the summer as these republican states reopened? More and more I seriously think that unless countries follow the successful Swedish experiment, these lockdowns are going to be part of life. The states you mentioned are all urbanized, cosmopolitan states with densely packed cities on the coast which saw runaway infections at a time when no controls were in place, no protocols were in place, PPE and other supplies were in shortage, and physicians were still trying to figure out how to treat the virus, and of course there were no medications like Remdesivir or dexaM or other things not to mention the MAB cocktails which Trump ingested (Lysol was however available, at least for the doses needed for drinking if not cleaning).

I find it curious that Trump takes credit for good things that happen at the country level, even international level (such as the BionTech and Oxford vaccines in development) but delegates blame to states and lower levels for things gone awry. One would think the POTUS is responsible for an important thing like national public health (and national economy which is in deep shit at the moment).
