This is mostly correct. Zlatan is an extreme example but IMO ethnic Swedes behave much more like SkarsgRoad in this example whereas MENA and Yugoslav immigrants don't. Note that this is no judgement call.

What always wonders me is that so few people are questioning the efficiency of the vaccine against he covid and specially the different variants. How many people we all who get the flue vaccine and were already sick, why should it be different with this vaccine? If 10 months back I had tod that the situation will the one we are facing today so many will think I am pessimistic, negative but the reality is that may be in 1 year the situation will be worse than today. Probably because it's been tested on over 100,000 people and reports consistently show efficacy similar to measles and mumps vaccines rather than the flu vaccine.

The example of the flu vaccine is a real straw man argument that purposefully ignores the efficacy of the plethora of other vaccines such as Hepatitis, Measles, Mumps, Varicella, smallpox, polio, etc.

If the pandemic is worse 6 months from now than it is today, it is because people have not taken the vaccine. And a major reason, besides government incompetence, would be because people are not properly and impartially educating themselves and then disseminating false information to others.

Obviously someone has not been paying attention, there are good reasons why these vaccines are being distributed in 10 months instead of 10 years. No time has been wasted in getting these vaccines tested and approved TO THE SAME HIGH STANDARDS as other vaccines. Other vaccines could be tested at the same speed if the money was there, the staff, the resources, the regulators, the approvals were all ready to go after each step of the process, and don't forget how many people stepped up to volunteer in great numbers, nobody ever responds so willingly when other vaccines require testing.

Looks like I don't really have much to add as this poster pretty much sums it up. Funding, recruiting volunteers, wait times, etc were usual obstacles that were bypassed due to necessity.

Same research rigor, less bureaucracy, it's amazing what educated humans can do when we dedicate ourselves to the work at hand.

I guess the first step to any fruitful discussion is for both parties to actually recognize that the coronavirus pandemic is actually a medical threat. My suggestion is to start with reckoning the absurd number of hospitals operating at over 100% normal capacity with one's beliefs that this thing is not a worthy threat. I sure have never had to factor microembolisms, liver failure, and myocardial damage as much with the flu. Here's a pretty simplified but accurate summary of how SARS-COV2 affects the body and why it's lower cytopathogenicity (tendency to actually outright kill host cells) is actually one of it's greatest advantages. But then again, if one still calls it the flu in January 2021, that same person probably has no interest in actually educating oneself without partisan goals.

Swedes on the other hand remain relatively unnoticed when they reach something extraordinary. They are less prone to bragging. This is because they follow a common rule called the Jantelagen, literally translated: law of Jante. Basically it says that "You are not better than anyone else".
