And the dumb claim that America is banning abortions is also bullshit. America isn't banning shit, states like Texas, Utah, Oklahoma are banning.

Over 30 states consisting of 65% of the American population still have less regulations than all of France, Germany, Italy, Spain, etc.

But if You happen to meet sometimes few women, I don t mean for sex but just to talk about life, ask them and listen to what they think about this big progress for their rights, from crazy, unrespectful and stupid Trump work, when he has big problems with women. In France, we are proud we had Simone Veil. More than half states will not be good places for women rights, when this was their right since 50 years and now returning in the past, but men behavior, rapes, porn, won t return 50 years back, when many girls will be pregnant at 14 . That's again a misconception. Again the ruling did not ban abortion. It left the decision to individual States to decide. While some judges may have their personal beliefs, in the end, the justification for repealing the precedent was not a moral one. It was a legal justification because the courts in the 1970's did a poor job of making a case for the right to abortion.

Federal American government did not ban anything. It just removed Constitutional protection because nothing in our constitution actually protects abortion rights. Rather this should be viewed as a State's rights versus Federal government case. America is more diverse than any other nation in the world. It is proper to let the various regions that differ so much to decide what is best for their respective cultures.

To make blanket cultural statements about America shows ignorance. Go to California and I guarantee that you will find it to be a lot less religious than Spain or Italy. Go to New York and you will see a lot more Catholic influence. Go to Alabama and you see evangelicals.

And again, states like Oregon, Colorado, and a half dozen others allow abortion til term. California, New York and a couple dozen others have more liberal laws than all of Europe and Japan. Only looking at the 13 or so states that have total bans is pretty narrow sighted and reveals that people saying America is backwards don't have a clue about how big and diverse this nation is.

I agree that a right to privacy (and therefore a right to an abortion) based on "penumbral rights" supposedly deriving from the Constitution is sketchy. But, that doesn't change the fact that this is the first time in the history of American jurisprudence that a constitutional right, after having been acknowledged, was subsequently taken away. That makes this ruling uniquely controversial. There's always been controversial cases, and there will be more. But there's never been a ruling like this one. There hasn't been another one like it ever (taking a constitutional right away). Now on the other hand, and subsequent to Roe v. Wade, several other Supreme Court rulings established other constitutional rights derived from a "right to privacy". Are those rights now too in jeopardy? Many think so, especially after what Clarence Thomas said in his concurring opinion (that those too should be revisited). Justices Kavanaugh and Coney Barrett clearly lied during their confirmation hearings (surprise, surprise) regarding their commitment to the longstanding principle of stare decisis (and Roe v. Wade being settled law), and they did so while under oath. There has been some talk of holding them accountable for their lying through their teeth under oath, but I don't think that's going to go anywhere.

Brazil have the similar issue with abortion too apparently, and let not even talk about middle east etc!
