My thoughts exactly. I do not consider Omicron a serious threat in large part to the fact that most people in Western nations are vaccinated or have been naturally immunized. Largely, those getting seriously sick are getting sick due to their own accord and right to not get vaccinated. Hospitals have easily absorbed the surge of the seriously unvaccinated. 2000,3000, 4000 deaths per day in western nations, it's no longer a moral concern for me as these are the result of personal life decisions for which people are entitled. As long the number of these people remain below hospital critical levels, covid is over until / if some other variant arises. For now, life must move forward and as the Danes have apolitically declared, they have catered to and protected the old and the sick. Covid has become a less serious threat. It's time to give the rest of society back their lives and futures.

In Switzerland during 4 weeks 900 k people tested positive, so the real number is much higher, the corona task force said that as much as 40% of the population could have got it. During this time the number of severe cases and deaths was dropping continuously. It would be really stupid to add restrictions as long as the hospitals are not overwhelmed.

People at risk are vaccinated. Who is not vaccinated by now, does not want to be vaccinated. If people don't understand by now that vaccines reduce the risk for severe disease or death, they will never understand this.

Omicron changed the rules. I don't understand why people get stuck on one opinion when faced with new information. Well, I guess people with an overinflated ego never can admit they are wrong. In Switzerland the Corona task force admitted that what happened during the Omicron wave was much better than the most optimistic estimate they had. So they will relax rules very soon. In Germany too, they start relaxing land by land.

The Swiss confirmed today. Except masks in public transport and care homes it looks like all restrictions will be gone.

Only restrictions remaining in Switzerland are masks in public transit and hospitals. Everything else, gone. Austria lifts restrictions on 5 March.

Not sure what the number of deaths in US have to do with restrictions in Germany or Austria.

Since first reopening under covid, how many times did you visit Globe? Around 10 times for me to judge the fall for expensive 130/30, GT Vienna? I don't think the problem was with what was said on French TV or in French newspapers.
