I probably won't visit La Grave unless they fix that old lift comming from 2 alps. I met a guy at an FKK who had worked at 2 alps as a police, so he told me good things about it. But I'm not going to drag my skis or snowboard 2 km just for one run down. Verbier looks better, and is actually very popular among the rich norwegian crowds the nurse complains about too. But Globe has too many tall girls, so they need to fix that first at the very least! Since I like them short! So I will stick to Austria and maybe the occational visit to italian dolomites. Kronplatz was terrific! Especially the short, but almost armani tailor made Piculin run at the far side of the resort. Voted best black run in the world twice by skiresort. De. Then there is the 2/2 are run as well, which will give you leg burn and is used in continental cup competitions. Or the bumpy nice 7/27/28 runs down to the resturant where you can make some nice jumps if you have speed. I do like off piste maybe more, but in general I have to admit Norway is better than Austria or Italy for that. Colorado (Snowmass etc) and Japan is even better. But Ischgl is decent! The best in the FKK area for me. So I will mix that one up with Circolo Passion this winter I think..

Don't believe guys in brothels: Between la Grave and 2 Alps is Girose glacier 3500 meters high. I discovered only on 2004 when I was advised by a friend at work, we met few times for skiing, having good runs in Alp Huez and after he saw me climbing on Summer. There was never any lift on Girose glacier other than on 2 Alps part and I m pretty sure I will never see any, even 2 Alps would buy la Grave lifts. Until about 2016, there was only ratrack machine which pulled You between the 2, same like still on top of la Grave. I don't use the one on top of la Grave, sometimes they even stop to ask if I need but I prefer to push for around 15 mn to warm up for pushing about 2 hours to cross and back Girose glacier, good sport at 3500 meters high and since no more machine pulling, I don t see many crossing now, not seeing many marks, my private new playfield. La Grave lift is often closed for Christmas but if good weather because better to read snow when no safety there, I will be alone only with my knowledge about snow for more than 1 hour, but I would be really happy to cross and back from 2 Alps glacier for my Christmas present, when I miss so much since 2 Winter. The good thing about this run is that you barely use any energy running it, and the gondola back up has virtually 0 queue. Plus it is a very fast gondola, and since it is at the far edge of the lift system, hardly anyone is there to ruin the run either.

La Grave is for lines in virgin snow, not on Derby on beginning of April of course. Verbier is for adrenaline through rocks. Funny that you mention this. At La Grave where Sirioja just posted about there is a costume race every year, and there is always one or two guys dressed up as Superman. I've never been to the French alps, but you can find videos from these races on youtube if you search for Derby de la meije.

What I wrote here is just average though. ID estimate maybe half of all Norwegian guys would easily do what I wrote. I didn't even try exaggeration. It was like stating that I could ride a bicycle pretty much.

Free ride paradise known all over the world by specialists is la Grave la Meije, even not anymore linked with 2 Alps because Alp Huez bought lift, but I don't care when I'm able to push for hours to cross 3500 meters high Girose glacier between. You can make a non stop run starting from 3500 down to 1450 high. La Grave for the puff and Verbier for extreme spots, even the most extreme for me are in la Grave for narrow very steep corridors above Chancel lake where you don't see what is below in the steep, at least you are not scared because you can't see danger, just surprise. When you arrive at bottom, you feel so alive and full of adrenaline. This without helmet, ARVA and mountains tools. As say staff: we don't want to send our staff for you there. I love this sport, when I brake when I don't feel anymore grip under narrow tires on bicycle, faster than 60, I feel like I will fly, when so long straight line down Ventoux to Malaucene to speed. Down most of my highest ranked, when I m really not the fastest for this, but we are faster than almost all cars on narrow curvy road.

But that's France. No FKKs.
