I come back here after months, and see all these very complicated discussions. Can someone please dumb it down for me? How is the lockdown working for Europe (or anywhere for that matter)? Is it reducing death rates and case rates months over months (or even year over year)? If yes, great. Let's keep everything including FKKs closed forever. If not, please can everything including FKKs be back open normal. Like they did in Florida and Texas in USA? I know many of you will try to respond with too much technical / clinical / biological "scientific" details, that's all good, but let's get back to basics. If something is working at the summary level, keep doing it. If something is not working at the summary level after a year of trying, scarp that strategy, right?

Summary:

Fully open doesn't work. See Brazil and Mexico.

Leaning on open with some restrictions. Doesn't work. See Sweden and large parts of the USA.

Leaning on closed but with a non-compliant population, doesn't work. See most of Europe and some parts of the USA.

Very restricted island (Figuratively and geographically). Sucks. No one wants it. Has very obvious negatives. Is the only strategy that has proven to suppress covid cases. See New Zealand, Iceland, Vietnam, Thailand, Ireland, UK after holiday lockdown.

That being said, perhaps the next step is considering whether your words and thoughts reflect elements of xenophobia or cultural elitism. Statements such as not worrying about club bosses because they are foreigners reflect a sentiment in which a person's nationality or even ethnicity determines whether their well-being is worthy of consideration. If it was about foreigners in your own country, perhaps that may even be perceived as looking out for the good of your fellow countrymen. But your sentiments are extended beyond your own national borders and toward Germany. That suggests that your sentiments reflect a hierarchal stratification of consideration for humans that are not ethnic northern / western European.

Well, a virus mutates every single time it copies itself. The thing with this UK version is that there were several mutations all at once. Same thing in SA and Manaus versions. All cocked up in gain-of-function labs. As these large scale perfect placement hikes in mutations only corresponds with petri dish involvements.
