Are you sure to know what really happen in China? When so many Chinese are afraid of their government, when some disappear. Even we have too many deaths in EU and France and we have to respect EU rules, reason why UK left but gave us their mutant, not coming from continental Europe, and I feel much more free and safe in my country. This killer virus didn't start in EU, where did it start? With lies from them.

By the way, let's see if Germany's health minister 'Jasmina' Spahn will survive the scandal surrounding his 'husband' and a corrupt deal with face masks:

    https://www.t-online.de/nachrichten/...es-mannes.html

    Caption underneath the photo:

Gesundheitsminister Jens Spahn und sein Ehemann Daniel Funke: Das Unternehmen, für das Funke als Lobbyist tätig ist, hat Spahns Ministerium offenbar Masken verkauft.
My translation: 'Health minister Jens Spahn and his husband Daniel Funke: evidently the company for which Funke is working as a lobbyist, sold Spahn's ministry masks.'

Let's see if Captain Merkel of the Pirate-Ship "DDR 2.0" ties all the shit that has gone wrong during the last year (hint: almost everything) to Spahn, and then throws him overboard. LOL!

China is a country run by the fascist CCP, and unfortunately you're correct about vaccinations and the passport.

    To say that.

Na, I disagree because China has had many outbreaks since that "super hard lockdown" ended last year, and Covid is not "controlled" at all. The thing is: the fascist CCP learned from it's mistakes in January 2020, so they immediately block all communications, similar to North Korea. Sometimes some truth leaks out however, like this outbreak in February 2021: https://www.bmj.com/content/372/bmj.n307.

Fact is, Covid comes and goes, just like the ebb and flow of the ocean, and just like a normal flu season, regardless of lockdowns and masks. https://www.reuters.com/article/us-h...-idUSKBN29O032.

If super hard lockdowns worked, it would not have spread beyond Wuhan in 2020, and even the WHO has recognized that lockdowns can only temporarily reduce the strain on the hospital system, but are completely useless in containing and eradicating a virus.

Both approaches are inaccurate. As you said, there is a selective bias, some of the people taking the test are more likely to be sick: either they have symptoms or they had someone sick in their close circle. But he has a point here: the way the data is communicated to the public is not really clear, and the more you test the more the incidence rate will increase. An increase in the incidence rate doesn't always mean that the virus is spreading faster, it can also mean that the test capacity increased, or that for one reason or another the share of people who are likely to be sick increased in the total number of people passing the test. Either way, the incidence rate communicated is inferior to the real incidence rate but will converge towards the real IR as the test capacity is increasing.
Without a doubt communication and messaging has been horrid. Even I had to search for clarity for the parameters of the 35 per 100 K statistic. If I am not mistaken, 35 cases means cases per week per 100 K inhabitants. That in itself was not made obviously clear. It is even more confusing since incidence is more often reported in daily cases, or the more useful 7-day daily average.

But I think it is important to point out what the increase in the value of the number would mean and what it does not mean. It should go without having to be explicitly said that testing more does not actually increase the incidence, it just gives you a higher but more accurate value for true incidence. That true value didn't change because we tested more, we just calculated a more accurate number. That fact is key to my question of one's primary motivation; are you interested in making policy off of the most accurate data possible or arbitrarily making it to a set number in order to get into a brothel faster?

That being said, I do understand why keeping the incidence set at 35 per 100 K per week is frustrating. Perhaps there is a reason 35 is an important number in calculating R_naught (0) but I am not familiar. 35 cases per 100 K inhabitants per week translates to a 7-day rolling average of 5 new cases per 100 K per day which is 50 positives per 1 million inhabitants per day. Germany is triple that at over 150 per million per day. As far as most western nations are from that number, it is not absurd and has been achieved in various geographically isolated countries like NZ, Australia, Japan, South Korea, etc. Currently, I see 2 European nations that meet the criteria, Iceland and Portugal.

    https://ourworldindata.org/explorers...US DEU PRT ISL

Despite the criticisms of Germany on this board, they remain ahead of most of the rest of Europe in controlling COVID spread. It is even more commendable that they remain as low as they have despite bordering 9 other nations in which almost all have been seeing much higher rates of transmission.

    https://ourworldindata.org/explorers...UX~DNK~CHE~BEL

If Portugal can get to the threshold, Germany can. My suggestion for people who continue to complain is to stop obstructing, try and help this along, and slap on a "face diaper. " God forbid that I make a recommendation to get vaccinated.

That data sharing agreement would be a tall mountain to achieve in the EU.
Each member state can get any vaccine they want if they want to negotiate as a single state. Hungary and Bulgaria, for example, also use the Russian vaccine. EU and India are the two largest exporters of vaccines to other countries, US has a complete ban on vaccine exports and UK has not exported a single dose out of the very few they produce. So, EU and India have started to close the vaccines taps to other countries, so they can get up to speed with their own vaccinations.

I personally agree that harder longer EU wide lockdowns starting in November would have been better in the long run. At the same time allow entry in the EU only with recent negative test.

Well someone who has a 36 cog should know what a mountain bike is because 36 cogs are typically found on mountain bike cassettes. So if you put a mountain bike cassette on a road bike or on some kind of 'hybrid' thing with two wheels, yes it's easier to climb.

Actually in your nice country with well mannered policemen, they have a few mountain bike events with 4000 m or more of climbing like the infamous grand raid from verbier to grimentz.

I tried it a few times, never made it past the last gate because they stop you if you're too late. But for a great climber who trains 4 week a year, the last climb would be a piece of cake. You have 4000 m of climbing in the legs, still 800 m to go and basically its a wall, everyone is pushing or carrying.

We agree on this, moderation is good in everything. That guy had definitely too much stress in his life. Two kids, very expensive wife (but smoking hot), very stressful job, plus all the hours he was training.

Sorry but I have a lot of friends in China, I can speak Chinese, have a Chinese driving license. I am spending several hours per day on Wechat with Chinese people may be I am better informed that many so called journalists. What is better 1 hard lockdown for 6 weeks and after that life back to normal, economy is booming or several lockdowns like in Europe and life not coming back to normal even 1 year after. I would from far prefer the Chinese solution. When the countries are succeeding we always find a lot of counter example it is not a democracy. For sure the US and Europe usually 2 parties are leading the countries for the last 50 years give a very good example of democracy, like in France a very good example of the democracy 30% of the voters for FN of Marine LE Pen more or less no representatives despite having the highest voters.

He is now doing Reha for 4 month and still has to stop to catch up his breath going up a flight of stairs. Sure he is not a typical case, but see one case like this with your own eyes and maybe you don't just think, who cares if somebody's grandma is dead, she should have gone easier on the cake.
More proof that extreme sportsmen are not 'healthy?' I've heard this before, extremely fit endurance athletes having serious struggles with Covid19 and taking months to recover. The again, I also frequently hear of these "he-runs-marathons-he-never-drinks-never-smokes-how-could-this-happen?" 'healthy' athletes dying at an early age due to heart attacks, strokes or cancer.

As always, do things (including fucking in FKKs) in some moderation and you'll live longer and happier. Any addiction (driving 1800 kms from Paris to fuck some FKK WG), including being addicted to sports for an dopamine rush, is never a good thing.

That's why many religions and cultures have a fasting tradition (moderation and self-cleansing), and that's why in many parts of this world "irrational exuberance" (Alan Greenspan) is frowned upon.

Except of course in the US and UK, where "Big is Beautiful" and the Anglo-Saxon culture worships huge unnatural silicone tits, big plastic fuel-guzzling cars, big aircraft carriers and big armies ruining dozens of countries, financial exuberance on Wall Street, and supersize-me fast food meals with half a Gallon of sugary 'soft' drinks.

Bigger is not always better, and the same goes for extremist nutcases who run '4900 km Great Divide' marathons, or people who step into an MMA octagon and beat the shit out of each other.

P.S. I have tremendous respect for the willpower and physical capability to do those extreme sports, but as the Covid19 cases illustrate, it is not healthy in the long run.

I'll explain for you how the grupetto works. People who don't care on that particular stage how they place, do as little effort as possible, just enough to not miss the time cut. They save energy for the future stages. So there are oodles of amateurs who went faster than the grupetto on some climb. What those amateurs need to understand is that A) they don't do 21 stages in 3 weeks B) they don't do the full stage before that particular climb and C) any of the pros could still go much faster if they have to and smoke the wannabees.

Just because he was in the grupetto on some stage, does not mean he can't go harder if he wants to.

Did Marc Madiot call you already? He could use a rider who is stronger than Sagan, assuming you don't want salary close to what Sagan makes (EUR 5.5 millions).

The problem is not the vaccine or the passport, if in the coming months many vaccinated people get sick it will be game over for the passport. China economy is booming, covid is under control, there is no mass vaccination and no passport, may be we should start to look about the best performers and not about US and UK which are extremely poor performers in the battle against covid.
