In your statement you assume that the vaccine is efficient, for me the vaccine will be as efficient as the flue one, we all know a lot of people getting the flue vaccine but already catching the flue. Is the vaccine efficient against the new variant, probably not more than 50%. Just advice you to have a look back to March 2020, all the statements or promises from the politicians, so on doctors. Today 360000 deaths in the US, most of the countries in quarantine, covid stronger than never. Do you still believe the vaccine is efficient?

The strain of CV19 that entered the USA did not come directly from China but via Western Europe. To implement the travel ban you are speaking of, a hundred plus countries would need to collectively sign off and ban East Asians from entering. This would effectively establish two travel corridors. Every country in the world would be forced to pick a side or decide which travel corridor they want to belong to. If India chooses to allow Chinese to enter India (or Indians to travel to China), then no Indians would be allowed to enter USA or Western Europe. And nobody from USA or Western Europe would be allowed to enter India.

The problem is there are millions of non-Asians living, studying, and working in East Asia. And there are millions of East-Asians living, studying, and working in Europe. Would these people be banned from visiting family in their home countries? Or would they be forced to enter a 30-day quarantine at both ends of travel?

I could imagine Westerners, even the ones with no social, business, or romantic connections to East Asia protesting about the loss of their individual rights and freedom of movement. "If I want to travel to China and risk being infected by some yet to be discovered pathogen, I should be allowed to do so!" And the sexpats in the Thai forums would definitely align with that cause.
