And what about China? May be they done due international commerce?
The problem is not how much you earn but how much you spend. Most of the American I know have a lot of loans to pay back, they buy so many things on credit, I buy nothing on credit except real estate and if I compare with my friends I have more assets than most of them. I never bought a new car in my life but always preferred to buy a additional apartment or house, restore it and sell it again, or buying shares. Even today I drive my 15 YO Toyota land Cruiser and for sure I could buy a new one. I refuse to pay any fees for any bank, I use pre paid sim card, no company has access to my bank accounts, when I have to pay my electricity or gas. I go the post office to pay it. Last week in one of my a bank a new employee told me that he can give the VIP / Ultimate card for free, I answered that I just need the very basic one.

As far as the economy goes, Trump's claims Of accomplishment are quite bogus and w / o merit. First, no one gets a pass on year 4 of a 4-year term. GWB could not say "please ignore 2008 and judge me 2001-07". Real people are having a really horrible time in 2020, and "but 2020 doesn't count" is nonsense. China grew its GDP 4% most recently. We are in deep negative GDP territory. As is most of W EU.
Secondly, the 2017-19 so called prosperity was juiced with a massive tax cut which was not paid for, and with Fed helping the POTUS with highly accommodative policy stance. The tax cuts were not paid because there was no spending cut offset. None. When it comes to spending, Trump is as bad as any Dem, or worse. On the Fed issue, he badgered Jay Powell non stop, going so far as to compare him to Xi Jinping in a tweet in 2019. Bottom line: we have increased national debt be the highest amount in a single term and Fed has used up so many bullets that if we have a massive 2nd wave and the economy goes into a tail spin, the ability of Fed to help out is hugely limited because they already did way too much. At some point, liquidity trap which normally is an academic subject becomes a real thing.
So, no! Trump's boasts on the economy are hollow. It is actually amazing that he doesn't get more push back from Biden, partly because Biden is too slow and not that smart. If someone like Paul Ryan was running against Trump, or even Romney, they would have pointed out the absurdity of Trump's claims on economic accomplishments.

On par for the course though. Crazy conspiracy theorists tend to get intimidated when people throw real data at them.
Mr Ho accused me of being McAdonis once too. Maybe they're the same person too!

Posts: 2953This chart fits well into one of my pet peeves in life.
All the anti-American Americans in the country.
https://ourworldindata.org/grapher/t...gdp-per-capita
It would appear that countries with the highest per-capita incomes most often have the highest positive Covid-19 rates.
Maybe if a country has significant commerce, it is difficult for those conducting commerce to socially isolate themselves. And people conducting commerce tend to make relatively more money.
Personally, I find tremendous quality of USA Escorts in the $500-$600 an hour range. If a person reviews the Seeking Arrangement thread, there is plenty of quality described there, usually at a lower cost per hour than $500-$600 an hour, but not necessarily a lower total cash outlay given the relatively longer-term arrangements.
Now of course that is ridiculously expensive, and the same exact services can be obtained in any given foreign market for a much lower cost. Of course, the travel cost incurred by the American must be considered, unless a subsidy exists, which is often the case. Although that subsidy is rarely disclosed.
I always ask myself a most basic question. Do I earn twice as much working in the United States than I would in Canada, three or four times as much as I would working in Spain / Portugal, and ten times as much as I would working in Romania. Yes, I probably do. So should I deny the right of an American sex worker to charge that same premium over her foreign counterparts? No, I don't think I can. Of course American sex workers charging very little are skanky, but that isn't a valid comparison.
Just my opinion. But I don't see how so many guys can enjoy the benefits of living in a country with a very high per-capita income and complain about the detriments such as the high cost of living.
Same with Covid-19. If you have a job and freedom of movement, you have a relatively greater risk of catching the virus. Most of us hope that doesn't occur, obviously. But giving up earning a good living and having freedom is a big thing to give up.
You take the good with the bad and don't ***** about it, in my opinion.

I am not a clone account of Mursenary.
We happen to share the concept of scientific method, being driven by evidence and logic, which means regularly admitting error and junking any provisional hypothesis when falsified or a better hypothesis that fits the evolving evidence becomes apparent. Flush and repeat. If it were otherwise we would still be be in the stone age.
This is the opposite of politicians and social sciences that conceal, downplay or deny items that challenge pet views. Or they close down discussion, or remain silent on what bits they do not like.
We also share a love of beautiful young women, a perfectly natural thing and celebration of life. This is why this board exists. God I miss a room of hot, naked women in Germany and Austria parading around and so available. May this blight end. Until then, we must endure USA sex prison.

Posts: 6681When that is said. The risk is greater for the girls than for us. So if a few of them find their ways to where I live, I'll survive for another year or two with this crap going on. Because it probably will. And just before the vaccine is out next year, it will just mutate away again. And ad nauseum!

Posts: 6681Well, sure sounds like Phallus Maximus is another one of Mursenary's clone accounts. Aside from that, it is too much to read. But of course it is a dangerous virus. Not to mention that 10% of the infected get long term problems it seems. But what do you know when it's a biological weapon!
I personally told a few people: 'lock the fuck down' (as I understood immediately that this was a bio weapon), and we got away with it better than the swedes. Not surprisingly in retrospect though, as anything polar opposite to the swedish model in anything is usually the best way to do things.

Posts: 2073Sweden set their single day record with 2820 new cases on October 28. If the virus had been circulating freely in Sweden all these months, then shouldn't their single day record have been established sometime between April and September? My belief is that the Swedish have been diligently following the recommendations of their health authorities since the beginning of the pandemic. In other words, even though there was not an "official" lockdown mandate, most Swedish voluntarily limited their social contacts. To put 2820 new cases into perspective: if adjusted to USA's population, it would be the same as the USA logging 90 K new cases in a single day. But USA's single day record to date is only 82K. My prediction is the Swedish will have it under control before the Spanish, French, and Czech, because Swedish authorities just put out new recommendations:
Authorities advised residents to refrain from indoor environments such as shops, malls, museums, libraries and gyms. But necessary visits to grocery stores and pharmacies can be made.
Refrain from participating in, for example, meetings, concerts, performances, sports training, matches and competitions. However, this does not apply to sports training for children and young people born in 2005 or later, officials said in a statement.
If possible, avoid having physical contact with people other than those you live with. This means, among other things, a dissuasion from arranging or participating in a party or similar social gathering.

Posts: 1138US Politics anyone on the weekend before the Election?
Since all the Trump haters keep bringing up his name, with special nicknames for the duly elected leader, for many of the issues that are not really in his control (as opposed to Trump lovers bringing up Biden's name that often), I wanted to throw couple of links (with views opposing to what the mainstream media like CNN, MSNBC, CBS etc want us to believe) for some more civic discussions and exchange of views about US politics and it's impact on us the mongers. Maybe we all will learn something from these, or maybe these will simply just generate more rants as this thread is aptly named, let's see. But I suggest anyone to comment on these only after reading thru the articles, please. Thank you all.
