Covid and flu viruses are very different and immunity to one of them would not give you immunity to the other one. That is why you cannot use a flu vaccine for Covid. You can find all types of correlations with flu, but correlation does not mean causation. This is the first rule in clinical epidemiology.

A weak flu season means lots of people who would have normally died in a regular flu season didn't. When COVID hit there were more deaths than normal as there more susceptible people in the population than normal. It also explains why the current increasing rates of infection don't seem to have a correlated increase in death rate as many of the more susceptible people have, unfortunately, already died.

Salaam Turgid. I made the point a few months ago that most of the people making decisions (politicians) are old people.

Imagine if children were the ones making decisions in our society. Then all the old people would just be shipped off to remote islands. For their own safety.

Being in my sixties myself I certainly disagree with people being shipped off to a remote island. Nevertheless lets say that the practice of world authorities at the beginning of the world wide spread of covid 19 was to let things go on as normal with no border closures, no quarantine and no lock downs then I would have started my three month FKK tour in July as planned. I believe in the benefits of pleasure just as much as I believe in the benefits of work.

The average age of FKK goers seem to be well into their 50's, a relatively high risk group even without diagnosed comorbidities. A key word there is "diagnosed. " I guarantee that well over 50 percent of FKK goers over 50 have some sort of undiagnosed compromised health function, whether it be hypertension, arteriosclerosis, hyperlipidemia, impaired renal function, etc.

The promotion of no restrictions with FKK attendance is lunacy, not to mention short-sighted when considering community spread. Unless you are a hermit and never see another human in your personal life, even if you personally do not fall ill, it's absurdly irresponsible and selfish to promote the aforementioned behaviors (no masks, free reign to spread).

By doing simple math you will find that the rate of death for the population is 0. 0001 which means
0. 01% , which means 99.99% of the global population have survived the pandemic.

Yet suddenly we need to wear mask, can't travel, live in fear and not go to FKK.

I know some are afraid, like many people afrraid of travel by plane, but those people are free to stay home, I think everyone should live normal live, unless someone is in the high risk group should have some Precautions not everyone.

Well, then your biology book is at odds with the modern zeitgeit regarding the definition of a virus. At least it should make clear that there is no consensus regarding weather or not a virus is a living entity or not. And I subscribe to the latter.
