On Saturday Dec. 8 I went into the PDN to check it out. I had not been there in about 4 years. The Place was packed, standing room only, which I liked because I wasn't hassled by any masseros. It was about 60/40 locals/Gringos.

The quality of chicas was quite impressive and lots of them. I was approached a couple of times before I selected Michele of TJ. She was a cute brunette who was very curvy and fondleable at the bar. She quoted me $240 for an hour (maybe 2hr) to go to my hotel which I respectfully declined. I took her up on her offer for the 2 for 1 lap dance upstairs for 200mp. She gave a very good lapper lots of grinding rubbing and for me lots of groping and licking and sucking. I was offered cbj but didn't get the price or partake. The 2fers were well worth it. The Casa Country Bar. Incredible sunsets on their ocean-view deck. I used to work out with the guy that runs the bar. His wife Betty and her sister run that entire camp. Real nice people. About a half mile south of there is a casa in a residential area that employs about six or seven chicas. If you take a right on the first street you run into after leaving the bar and head south past the Oxxo, you will run into a guy that sells shrimp cocktails and ceviche tostadas off a food cart on the same side of the street. The house is right around the corner from him. He has been at that same corner for ten years, and he knows of other places as well. Anyway, one hour is $40 plus $20-30 tip. Also, there is a good MP in the center of town near the rotunda, hospital and all-you-can-eat chinese buffet right on the main street. It is in a strip mall and it masquerades as a beauty salon. It is only good for HJ's, but a great value. An hour and a half for 650 pesos and the massage is excellent.

I was in Ensenada in early December for 3 days on business and had a little time to check out the scene.

I spent most of my time at Mirage, a locals strip bar, I was the only Gringo in the place when I was there. There was a couple of cuties in the mix of about 10 to 15 girls working. I spent most of my time with Gloria from Veracruz or Tampico (I can't remember which), a little Morena spoinner with a cute little ass and A cups. Great dancer an the stage and on the lap. She also works at the Hot Fox, at least that Saturday Nite she did.

I don't really recomend this place. The waiters are very agressive on selling the 100 peso lady drinks, especially the heavy set guy, he wouldn't back off and would bring them before you ordered. I finally had to just get up and leave. Ricardo was pretty good, he was new and maybe hadn't quite learned the ropes yet. He also had worked as a welder in the OC for 13 years and kind of liked talking to a gringo. More come soon.

Buenos Aires. I will be there in March. If you have any recomendations for furnished apartments there, please do tell. I have nothing but good to say about Ensenada. Although the women there are somewhat fat and subpar compared to other mongering destinations, the value still persists. Some friends that I still keep in contact with there have told me that their economy is slowing, as they are heavily contingent upon SoCal tourism. I believe that TJ resident Country John has also made an inference as to such in one of his recent postings. Regardless, your dollars should do quite well. As for housing, sometimes you can find vacant trailers in mobile parks that the owners will rent to you on a month to month basis. Also, there is a very nice condotel that will rent to you a furnished studio apartment at $800/month about a half mile south from the Caliente Sports book/casino on the same side of the street. The hotel is located just south of the downtown tourist section and is across the street from a trailer park and two blocks away from the main drag. There are also four dance clubs located within two blocks of the condotel.

I have spent some time in TJ, Rosarito, Cabo, La Paz, Todos Santos and even lived a week in a nothing town called Punta Baja which was right out of an old Clint Eastwood western. Ensenada would be my only choice. Also, there is a large contingent of ex-pats that hang out on Thursday nights at an Italian retaurant directly off the strip underneath a full-service massage parlor. It is owned by an Australian lady and her Mexican husband and I would recommend going there as you will encounter pro and non-pro action there.

If you choose Ensenada as your destination, you will have a great time.

It is just south of downtown over-looking the ocean. Three thousand pesos a month got me a 900 sq.foot one bdrm./two bathroom furnished house. A great deal plus a good bar with pool tables and dancing within the community of some 150 homes or so.

Is there a safe and secured expat community in Tijuana? Anywhere near La Zona Roja?

I know of a lot of burglaries of the homes and apartments in TJ. Would love to find a place to crash with the chicas.

There are some ex-pat communities just north and south of Real Del Mar (the best(ocean view from 12 holes) and hardest golf course I have ever played). Also, I would stay away from Rosarito. It is a small shit-hole town that is invaded on the weekends by kids and has high-crime problems as well as water-rationing issues. I believe that Peurto Neuvo (lobster town) is also a growing American community but is quite far from TJ.

One last thing. Don't take those shrimp cocktails for granted. I live in Monterrey, MX and all they give you is a glass full of fuc_ing catsup and bay shrimp. If I can remember correctly, forty pesos used to get me cooked shrimp juice, onions, catsup, clams, oysters, gulf shrimp and depending on availbililty, sea snails. That, and a couple of 50-cent ceviche tostadas, and a meal couldn't get any better.

Arrived in Ensenada around 10: 30 pm, parked, hit the fish taco stand, and headed off to Miramar St with 5 buddies in tow. Avoided Anthony's because of a bad experience with their "free tekillyou" shots. Buddy of mine was seriously poisnoned by that stuff.

I told the judge the stop sign was obscured by the ficus tree, and that I did stop in the middle of the intersection when I saw the sign. He looked at me with disgust like he had heard the same lie many times. The truth was that I was trying to stop in the middle of the intersection when I saw the cop pulling up in his old Nissan Sentra. He told me $60 fine or car gets impounded, costing extra... I asked for a break. He reduced the fine to $40. I paid the fine and got back my car key. It took about 45 minutes.

6 AM the next morning, a cabbie took me from the hotel to the fishing boat. The whole town was still sleeping, there was virtually no traffic. He did something wrong on the same main drag, ended up with a motorcycle cop on his ass. He got a ticket. He was shaking his head, lamenting that the ticket was worth a couple days of his wage.

My impressions are that Ensenada cops are very strict but not corrupt. Whereas bribes are expected in Tijuana, you may get nailed for attempting to bribe in Ensenada. Just stay out of trouble and drive perfectly when in Ensenada.

That winter fishing trip I got a dozen ling cods which is the white-meat fish somtimes called lizard fish, about 10 Lbs each. They are fightsy and good eating. A few Japanese fellows brought along wasabi, soy sauce and beers. At half time, we had a good sashimi party with the big bonitas they caught. In the summer I've caught large calico basses and tunas.

Check out the package deals to Cabo or Mazatlan with Alaska or Mexicana. Flight and hotel sometimes cost only $350, double occ. for 3 nights. Go during the summer months and you are sure to catch a few marlins, mahi mahi and tunas. Bring along a large cooler and haul back deep-frozen fillets. Could last you a few years.

I like the raw-clam cocktails sold out of food carts at every street corner in Ensenada, fresh and delicious and never gave me any stomach problem. The fish tacos in Ensenada are delicious with all those fresh fish from the fish market. Make sure you ask their prices before partaking because some of those seedy restaurants around the fish market charge very high prices.

I usually eat at the biggest sea food restaurant named 'Puerto Nuevo?' where you can sit on the sidewalk on main tourist shopping street. The place is cleaner, the food is better and prices are the same if not lower than the dirty places around the fish market. There are a few good restaurants in town.

Of course when night falls, I party at Anthony where they give you a shot of good tequila with each $3 beer. It's nice to hang out with your fishing/drinking/fucking buddies and flirt with the chicas. Anthony has been remodeled as a strip club aiming at the gringos' taste, not a Mexican dancing club like before. There are a few stunners here. The chicas here are easy going, costing $100, not the fast-fuck machines like those in TJ. A few mongers have been mentioning the La Noche de Paris with good talents. I will check it out next time.
