Thank you, Tiny. I sent 50 friend requests through Tagged.com and am averaging about 1/3 acceptance. I sent 26 messages on Amigos.com and have not received a single answer. I think the Tagged girls are much more lower class than the Amigos girls which might explain the difference. Also the Tagged request was just yes or no while the amigos note was written in imperfect but understandable Spanish.

There are flights to my island via Panama, even though it is cheaper through Miami.

If I have an extra 3 or 4 days after my business trip is over, would you think it would be worth it to fly to a city like Cali instead of staying in Guadalajara?

You're right, it's not recommended. Given that you know "some Spanish", my expectation is that you won't find the pickings any better than you would, say, in the U.S. The women in Guadalajara that I find most attractive (educated and sexy) have plenty of options, are not hurting for money, and they're materialistic.

The following is the only thing I'm aware of like a marriage agency: http://www.mexican-brides.com/mexican_brides.htm. I looked at it maybe 10 years ago and some of the same women that were on the site then are still there, so I'd be very careful about shelling out for a membership. You could try match.com competitors like cybercupido of course.

With respect to a tourist visa, while I don't know where you live, the biggest issue could be getting your media naranja a visa for the US. Mexicans can go about anywhere in the world that they want to except the USA, and I think she'll need a USA tourist visa to transit in Houston or Miami or wherever. It's very difficult to get to many places in the Carribbean from Guadalajara without passing through the United States.

My question: Is the scene still going on during Christmas to New Year's. Mainly I dig esteticas and street girls downtown. Hopeing they'll still be around.

Last time I was in GDL, I had a GREAT time with the "low quality" girls everyone warns against. They were strict with condom use (as was I) so not sure where the disease risk is. Has anyone one here caught anything. Or am I the only one that frequents the street girls when I'm feeling cheap and looking for a quickie?

hello, i felt like this thread needed something like a "resume", or more like giving quick facts about guadalajara, from my experience, hope it helps.

first of all, i'm a local, if you wonder.

* avoid table dances, they are a rip off, i had been to several of them and the times i decided to have a girl sit in my table, the bill just went up to the sky.

* avoid "plaza del sol" and javier mina avenue, pretty much you'll find transgender there (generally after midnight and more in number at weekends) , the "pretty ones" are at plaza del sol if it's what you looking for.

* there's also transgender at plaza del mariachi.

* there are hookers in the infamous hidalgo hotel which been mention on this thread a lot. i would avoid them.

* there are street hookers at revolucion ave, but i would avoid them, low quality and high chance of getting a disease.

* if you still want to visit a table dance, i would recommend candys bar, pretty much any taxi driver will take you there. my best table dance experience was at titanic blue, but some people on this forum, didn't like it at all.

* i don't recommend going to the table dances that you find on the road between the airport and the city, not very safe.

* there's several table dances nearby ibm plant on the outskirts of the city (it's nearby el verde town, to the road that takes you to 'el castillo') , i don't recommend those, quite unsafe.

* there's nothing for you on the east side of the city, that's after libertad market (aka san juan de dios market) , there's 'action' but usually on shady places and low quality.

* for a good pop, visit a barber shop (estetica masculina) , one that nobody mention here and i highly recommend is 'select', it's on 2546 paz avenue (av. de la paz) and francisco de quevedo, pretty close to centro magno plaza, it's $1, 200p, last time i was there. another one is 'luigi's', it's on lopez cotilla 1882, one block from centro magno, last time i was there, price was $500p, there's single mom's pretty much, but service is good and every time i went there i left with a smile.

* people on this forum recommend '[CodeWord123]', i hadn't visit it.

* there's other esteticas that i hadn't seen mention here, the ones i found but never tried: alex (it's on av. arcos, in front of a oxxo, a few blocks away from mariano otero) , lions (2167 niños heros ave, corner with simon bolivar) i should mention that there's plenty of esteticas nearby niños heroes statue, that's nearby chapultepec ave.

* to pick "local girls" try the bars at downdown.

* action is spread in guadalajara, we don't have a designated area.

* yes, women here are after money, not all of them, just the easy ones.

* if you like to pick women after their 40's try 'la copa de champagne' piano bar, it's by "glorieta colon", also many taxi drivers know where's located and zone is relative safe.

* avoid internet ads, on my experience, you don't get the girl from the picture, sometimes the phones are bogus.

* after the new law implemented by our goverment, ads are someone restricted metro, esto newspapers have few ads.

* avoid calling galilea models, at all cost.

* there's ads on the adult section on the yellow pages, but i don't recommend those.

* yes there's hookers at libertad market, so far i had only seen "one jewel", and no, i don't recommend going there for a pop.

* if you like transgenders, there's a local website (travestis mexico) , who have good looking models, i don't know how much they charge.

* if you rent a car, and drive around the city, at some point you might get "business cards" with girl phones (the hooker type) , so far, the phone on those cards are bogus, dunno if someone had luck getting actually a girl from those.

* many taxi drivers know a lot about mongering, ask them if you feel comfortable doing so.

* yes, there's awesome food at tlaquepaque, but also good food at guadalajara and zapopan areas, i recommend "el rincon gaucho","los inmortales", if you need a fix for mexican food, go to "el tequila", those restaurants are easy to find and any taxi driver should know about them. avoid street food vendors if you are somewhat have a weak stomach.

* spanish is not a must, but it does help, many locals do speak english.

* this thread has way more information than all the "local" websites combined.

* the cheapest drinks in all town are usually from gay bars.

I can safely say I'm a world traveler and often have used the opportunities when had them to explore beauty around me. As far as GDL is concerned, enough to say that miss universe 2010 was actually from GDL! I've really laid eyes on the most beautiful, prettiest, funniest-to-be-with, women ever in GDL.

I was there one year ago, I was on business and had very little time to hook up, but even for me it wasn't by any means difficult. If you don't have much time around, head for the massage parlors. I had a private car and my driver drove me to couple of places. Petty I don't recall addresses. But it's established. 99% of massage parlors there would offer you a FS.

The two places I've been to, the girls were gorgeous, so friendly (despite my lack of Spanish) , and willing to make a guest happy.

GDL, definitely a place I wish to visit again

Just got back from State of Jalisco. Went with a friend from there we not only had a good time in Guadalajara but the smaller towns north of there.

I'm heading off to Puerto Vallarta after spending 4 days in Guadalajara. A non-monger friend said it was a great destination for cultural sightseeing, more on that later.

Since this is a mongering site, let me state for the record (IMO) that GUA is not a great mongering destination.

Since this is a mongering site, let me state for the record (IMO) that GUA is not a great mongering destination. It is not even two notches below the great places in Latino America that I've been to in the recent past. But, as they say, money is the best aphrodisiac, and if you have money, legs will magically pry themselves open for the right price. And GUA is no exception, with some bargain basement prices I found.

Let me say a few words about GUA as a vacation destination. If you want to do some nice sightseeing and get a flavor the history and culture of Mexico, book a 3-4 day vacation in downtown GUA in the historic centro area. You could fill your days with architectural and museum viewing, interesting shopping (in the largest open air market in Latin America, with great food). If you are familiar with Diego Rivera, the great mural painter of Mexico (and husband of Frida Kahlo. Salmita!) , the murals of Juan Orozco in two buildings downtown are even more amazing (and larger). And you should also check out Tlaquepaque, a satellite city in the eastern district that is truly a cool artist colony, a kind of Sante Fe, NM, but with roving Mariachi bands. Two thumbs up to the restaurant Chai, kitty corner from the Holiday Inn on Avenida Juarez. Cool, hip place to hangout, have a coffee, chai, snack or full meal at ridiculously low prices. Also heard of another nice artisan colony Tonala', but didn't make it there.

If you walked around the neighborhood where Calzada Independencia and Hidalgo / Republic meet, there are several short time hotels on Independencia and on one or two sidestreets. The ladies are in the doorways or in the lobbies waiting and I could see them as I slowly walked by in the late afternoon. Nothing that I would pay for and to be honest, not many for whom I do for free if I had the chance. But of course there's always diamonds in the rough, just didn't see any for those moments I passed by.

Great report. I was in Guadalajara several years ago. I was in a serious relationship and was not mongering, but taking in all the tourist sites was awesome. I loved that open air market.

I think my then girlfriend and I definitely walked by the Calzada Independencia and Hidalgo / Republic area. I hardly spoke any Spanish then, my ex was totally fluent so that made travel easy. Anyway, we were once approached by several aggressive, overly friendly ladies in skimpy dress who grabbed at me. I grew up in a third world country, and immediately knew that they were providers. I explained this to my ex, who is a gringa, laughing as we walked away. She was not amused as the realization hit her.

Went to the place to the left after but they were just opening. Did not care to stick around.
