I am just so dumb! I've been an ISG member and contributor for more than 6 years, mostly centering on Cambodia and Thailand where I live. For the last year, I have been doing air courier work out of Bangkok. In the last 3 months, I have had runs to GDL 6 times but never thought to check this forum out; as I said. Dumb.

Anyway, I am usually in GDL for less than a full day, usually arriving in the early am and heading back to LAX late afternoon; really the wrong time of day and not enough time to play.

There have been two times when I had overnight layovers, staying at the airport hotel. Honestly, I was reluctant to venture out into a city I didn't know without an experienced wingman. Money is an issue and I was reluctant to put myself in the mercy of a taxi driver.

First question: what is the average cab fare from the airport to a desirable section of GDL. Is there a less expensive way to get into the city from the airport? I looked for bus info or tour info in the airport but couldn't find any.

Second question: If I only have one night, or a full day, what is the best area to head for? I probably won't do any mongering since Thailand is so much cheaper and girls are so plentiful but looking is always fun and I am SOOO sick of the airport BK and Krispy Kream. Just the chance of some local Mexican food would make the trip worthwhile.

It does tick me off that I have been to GDL 6 times and have never left the airport. Any info you can give me on making the best of the time I have without spending a lot would be great.

BTW; my last time through two weeks ago, Immigration at the airport was a total fucking zoo! 0630am, about 1000 people and zero crowd control. Two agents were stamping the foreigners. It took me almost 4 hours to clear! I never have experienced anything like it. Lots of pushing and line cutting, several fights and many fainting lady's. Security did absolutely NOTHING to maintain order. Does this happen often?

In answer to your question 8 to 10 blocks from Mercados I am 67 and walked it cab 30 p at most do not know how far from H. Plaza San Francisco. Ice available Wal Mart across street get well Artissyp

Do you have any idea how far this hotel is from hotel plaza san francisco and is it close to the downtown mercados?

Any chance of getting ice anywhere near the hotel?

I will decide by this thurs or fri if I will come down. Dealing with a gripa at the moment but getting better.

Hotel Costa Brava, Calazada Independencia Sur 739, right across from Wal Mart, wireless internet king beds covered parking good shape only230 pesosAs a bargain hunter, this place should be around 400pesos! Way above 230 peso hotels. Pretty centrally located too. I did not stay there as was visiting but certainly will. Big John.

It may be too late now, but try www.seductoras.com.mx Under Guadalajara tab you will find several girls, if it says "foto real" it means that it is supposedly their real photo.

Helped friends book this way. Personally I stay in 150p to 200p places in Guadalajara near La Liberdad Mercado but glad to help other guys. Right now in Chapala paid 2000pesos for monthly apartment but go into GDL my month about up. Another site you can try putting in hotel name is.

Did you consider any side trips like the Lake Chappila?

My last full day here and I decide itll be a more relaxing day. I spend time going through centro and take some more pictures. I go to the market that I believe is on hidalgo across the street from the cathedral. I don't remember what it is called but from plaza de guadalajara you walk towards where the catedral is, do not turn towards the cathedral. There is a street directly in front of you, with traffic lights at the crossing. I think it is hidalgo, but I'm not sure. Anyway cross the street and turn left, about a block down on your right is an open air market. I decided to have lunch there, it is of typical mexican culture. The market is very crowed and its difficult to move around very quickly, but there are beautiful girls walking around in there. I chose to eat at a place called Hijos de Sanchez. I ordered 3 tacos de bistek con todo. It was so good, and I was full but I wanted more, LOL. Anyway the 3 tacos and a coke cost me 38 pesos. I fucking love Mexico, LOL. So I decided to have a smoke and wait for my food to settle. I go back outside and find a spot to relax, theres a small bordering wall to the market, so I hop up and admire the beautiful women and look around to see if any are admiring me. While I smoke my cigarette I turn my head and notice a young girl looking at me and smiling, so I smile back and tell her to come over. We talk, but she is working selling clothes in the market so she's busy also. She tells me she saw me smoking a cigarette there about two days earlier and wanted to know what I said to a black woman walking by. I told her I asked the lady where she was from bc as you all can see there's not many black people walking around in gdl. So I asked the girl if she was watching me yesterday, why didn't she come up and say Hello. She tells me she had verguenza, which is like shame. So we continue talking turns out the beautiful young girl is only 17 and won't be 18 til September. Que mal. Went home and slept for the night. My last day I just walked around talked to a few friends then headed out. I had a great time in gdl and can't wait to return. On my way to the airport I did notice 3 table dance clubs, one called boom boom, one called cadillac and the other I forget, but it was right next to boom boom. In short, gdl is a fun city, a little spanish and taking initiative to talk with the locals will get you very far. You can come here to get your fix at the esteticas in the morning, get phone numbers of the girls, but you may be able to get alot of non pro action as well. Hope you guys have fun and remember to stay safe.

Decided to try the Mediterraneo after all the good reviews. I arrived at 6:15pm and place was busy. Had to wait 10 minutes for a room. The line-up had 12 girls most 6 to 7's . One a definite 9. A spinner. 5'4" maybe 100 pounds name is Gabby. 22 years. 1 child, pierced belly button, Great smile, amazing eyes,. Price 540 pesos, let her keep the change from 600. She was happy. Excellent oral skills, loved DATY, Not very tight, finished with mish and cowgirl. Open to all but "greek", not big enough for "Russian" just an "A-cup".
