Similar to you I'm reading through Puerto Vallarta since I'll be spending time there. I'll be doing a 1-2 day max pit stop in Guadalajara and would appreciate your summary if you're able to share.

I recommend staying at an airbnb in Viejo that has no security desk in the lobby. SA has provided me with some really fun girls to hang out with. I'm jealous!

Try the above hotel. Upscale hotel compared to hilton. This one I found better than hilton. No issue bringing girls. Lobby is huge. There is coffee shop and restaurant in the lobby area. You can ask girl to wait in the lobby or coffee shop.

I am currently staying at Hilton Double tree in Centro / downtown. They have Restaurant at 7th floor open till 10.30 PM. I am able to bring girls and no one asked any questions. Having restaurants is good excuse to bypass reception.

If you stay in 4 star and above, most will have this advantage. I had tried the same at CDMx too.

Rate I got is around 70 $ night. Breakfast is additional. Location is great for meat it is historic district. I prefer to stay in historic area where you get a better local vibes than high end area which is nothing but noisy bars.

Have you tried to fly out of Tijuana? The CBX now allows you to cross into Mexico without going through the hassle of going into Tijuana. It's cheaper but not sure where you are flying from but there's ways to make it a fraction of the cost of flying from the US.

I used to fly RT California to GDL in 2019 for about $320. Earlier this year I started my monthly GDL trips and it was costly!

Now I am seeing sub $300 if you book about a month and a half in advance. Thought I'the share this with the forum.

Gents,

I love GDL. Only 3+ hrs for me by air. Nonstop from California. I have mongered in DF and PV. All three cities have their benefits.

I like GDL because I rarely see tourists. I like the vibe of Chapu. El Centro is about a 40-minute walking distance from my hotel. And there are good agencies and indies.

I am curious what other Mexican cities do you gents enjoy visiting and why?

Hmm, 10+ times I flew Volaris out of GDL I checked in online, then showed my boarding pass on my phone and passport to get through security, then showed Covid test and passport again at the gate. Volaris check in at the airport is awful, the line is about 100 yds long, avoid it all costs.

Thanks for input - & sorry, I should've been clear, my Volaris experience was at cdmx airport but I'm going to do what you stated next time there (skip counter and deal with agent at gate instead).

Volaris let me get boarding pass (online checkin) but made me go to counter when i got to airport and show in person and clear to fly so that's why I was wondering.
