After arrests in the 2012 abduction and murder of Venezuelan model Daisy Ferrer Arenas, I can find nothing more published on the internet and nothing about motive. Her murder was laid at the feet of Danny Quintero, a boss of the Cartel de Jalisco Nuevo Generacion but it isn't clear why. It does appear that she had been recruited as a model but ended up working in nightclubs. The remains of the film students are now reportedly found and two CJNG gunmen are detained. It isn't clearly reported to what extent the cartels are involved in prostitution anywhere in Mexico. It may not yet be safe to return to the esteticas in Guadalajara. It is evident that some that have closed will never reopen. Daisy's photo is below.

I appreciate the research and the update, hopefully the government and the cartel don't start fighting. I feel there will be tension and I'll ask with caution, my Uber drivers about this whole situation. This will surely cause another outcry and protest with many students and civilians because they will demand action to be taken. To put context into this take, this trip took place in February 17-18th 2018 about two week after my initial trip to GDL (January 26th - 29th 2018). I will try to cut the story short to something more convenient and readable than my other post. Here it goes:

Again, the trip first started the night before (Feb. 16th) in Tijuana and in contrast to going alone like the first time I brought along a friend and I showed him the ropes in by taking him to Chicago, Adelitas, and Hong Kong.
