I was thinking about heading down to Juarez soon since the weather is getting warmer. However, with all the police and violent going on down there make me nervous now. Does the cops bother you if you ride in a taxi? Any mongerpalooza date coming up. Let me know early, so I can join.

I seem to remember that Dreaming Eagle got into some very deep shit years ago when he was picking up a woman around the same gym and the police came down on him. It was so deep he wouldn't post about it, which was strange given the guy was a gifted writer and loved to write about Juarez. Anyway, does anyone know what happened with the girl from the gym? Actually, in 1902 the U.S. forbade further immigration from China and a few other areas of Asia. Said Asians then immigrated to Canada and Mexico as a "way-station" to then come into the U.S. Many of them were content to stay in Mexico and Canada; thus Mexican-Asians. I've had problems with cops robbing me in area west of Juarez, by the gym. I'm a nice white gringo, not looking for any problems. Two weeks ago, they spotted me, and pulled the bullshit shakedown routine with me, around 5pm. I had nothing on me but money, and condoms. No drugs, or weapons. They ordered me into their "dog catcher" truck, and drove me to somewhere, I don't know where. They robbed me of all my money. They then drove me somewhere else, and dropped me off. Told me if they saw me in Juarez again that day, they would throw me in jail. I was causing no problems, when they spotted me. I was just walking down the sidewalk. They just figured I would have money on me, and they were right. I won't hang out in that area by the gym again. Too risky, because of the cops. Everyone in this area told me cops would not bother me in this area. They were wrong.

Wow, an Audi not too many people have those around here (no dealership in ep). A BJ in the hallways, reminds me of some of the stuff that goes down in the dark corners at Vaqueras. Went down to parque borunda in the afternoon and as I predicted a lot of ass is just spilling out. I imagine this is the same at most of the other parks throughout town now that the weather is warming up, just heaps and heaps of chica's. Headed out to bandoleros (the juarez one) last night for a change of pace. Its really great out there and if for nothing else there are about 4 motels in the vicinity. Met a great little chica named 'perla' who set me straight for the week. Thank god Monday is around the corner.

Juarez is like one of the biggest cities, land-wise, in North America so that 3-block downtown radius isn't much. I remember one day I was driving around in the black Audi with black leather interior and black tinted windows and stumnbled across some strip club in BFE. I walked-in alone and everyone looked at me like a mark. I sat down and began talking to the guys and girls. They calmed down. I got a BJ in the hallway. As I was leaving three cars were outside waiting full of cholos. Someone had a cellphone obviously. I looked at everyone in the eye and talked in Colombian-dialect although I'm not Colombian. They followed the advise of "The Rock" and knew their role. I entered into my car and drove off happy as hell that I didn't have to fight again in CJ.

Stereotype: When it's 3 or more guys in Juarez they want to fight 1-guy, especially after they've been drinking. Less than three means no problems. More than three means problems are coming in your direction. (aka "Gringo Envy.)

The Spaniards, who conquered and owned the Philippines brought over 100,000 Asians to Mexico. They conquered those islands with Aztecs and Amerindians - which plays into their appearance in that area as well.

After the African slavery revolt, the Spaniards brought over boat loads of Hindus, some Koreans and Chinese. It's said that in the Mexico City area, there were more Hindu than Amerindians and Spaniards.

When they outlawed slavery in 1810, they only listed Blacks and Indians - not Asians. Their Revolution was had, in part, in trying to end the Hindu caste system the country inherited.

Another interesting note is on those 'peasant dresses' that are still popular - they're of Hindu and Chinese origin. Look up "Meera".

Actually, Mexico doesn't recognize Blacks in their population although 1 Million exist mostly in Guerero and Veracruz. Veracruz was the major African slavery port as well as New Orleans. In fact, in the Zocalo of DF had decapitated heads on display to intimidate the populace.
