Has anyone tried paying less dollars in a mp to equal the amount in peso's? For example 25 us instead of 300 peso's or should I just convert to peso's when I get there?

When quoted a price in US Dollars, say 10 dollars, simply reply with cien pesos? (100) Unless you want to bargain down further. They'll go for it unless the exchange rates go crazy. It was 12 to 1 when I was doing this.

For those who may indulge - UNO has closed shop.

Actually, they've condensed it all. They also run the old Juarez Turf Club one block south. Tonite they decided to move it all to The Juarez Club and shutter the UNO location.

Any UNO tickets can be cashed there w/out problem.

Would you happen to know or be able to find out any specific date/time for Las Vegas?

That came from one of the girls at Queens. I'll ask around next time I'm in the area. The city could probably tell you, but if you think U.S. bureaucracy is bad, try Mexico's.

Thanks C32. Do you happen to know what the other buses were? They weren't trolleys. Looked like regular U.S. city buses except they were crossing the border.

In a blast from the past, Angie was working at Hollywood. The body still looks good, and that face is still the same. I hadn't seen her since Dia y Noche closed.

I believe that cross border bus service started about 6 months ago. I don't know where they pick up.

I read the "El Mañana" newspaper, from Nuevo Laredo, daily. Juarez is not a good place to go these days in my humble opinion. Please correct me if I am wrong. There have been numerous multi-person assassinations in recent days. Do they stay away from the touristas?

It seems to be as such at this point. Their beefs are "inside" and now are shaking down local businesses more - perhaps to compensate for any lost funds?

If you listen to some on this side of the river, one would think everyone is running around with a gun in hand just shooting anything that moves. Those being the ones who use phrases like "My friend heard from their cousin who knows someone that heard..." in most cases. Read some of the local (El Paso/Las Cruces) online newspaper forums for some of that "insight".

But, myself, I do expect it to carry over to American tourists sooner than later if only because of the economy, the upcoming holidays/shopping trips and the ability to blend in with the big crime. Very opportunistic atmosphere.

Right now, it seems to still be the Policia as being our biggest "threat".

Read many good things about Cleo’s, so I hit at 3:30 PM.

After I rang the bell a male voice told me to come back tomorrow.

They close at 3:30 on a Saturday? WTF?

A drawback to Cleo’s is there are no other MPs close-by that you can use for back-up.

They may be closing up early because of the lack of business. I've tried them a couple of times at about 7pm recently and found them closed.

However, rumor on the street has it that they've been shaken down by the narcos and some of the girls are afraid to come to work.

a recent visitor to juarez reports that pink lady's and casa colorada are closed, can anyone confirm or deny that?

i visited both places on saturday & wednesday and both were open, i was also told pink lady's had a good crowd on tuesday.

they could've of been closed monday, but do they close up a place for only 24hrs?
so i don't know how reliable your info is.

also, pink lady is pretty good about monitoring ****d girls.
