I would not spend a single peso in Hollywood even if it was located on Jaurez Ave next to the bridge. The waiters had a reputation of screwing customers out of their change. In addition to the rap and shit hop music be played., if you want to call that junk music. Numerous times I used to walk by that place listening to the waiters barking, practically begging me come in and buy a beer. I just could not deal with their rip-off attempts and the music.
IMO Alice and Charly's is still a decent bar, although the girl's drinks are expensive. I was there last Saturday night and saw about 5 I thought were screwable. At Queens I only saw one decent chic.
I feel safe on Jaurez Ave and Mariscal, north of Mejia. Anywhere else I use a taxi.

Alert for rats, mice plague issued after cleanup

Juárez environmental and civil protection officials Thursday issued an alert about a rats and mice plague.
The rodents apparently began showing up at homes in various parts of Juárez after the recent cleaning of the city's drainage system in an effort to control flooding, officials said.
City crews have started a fumigation program and are cleaning vacant lots to help stop the plague. Residents were advised to fumigate and clean their property.

I have been going to Juarez on and off for the last 30 years, but have not been there in several years now. The reason? Last time I went they had women cops, the women in the strip clubs were no longer getting nude or doing any shows and the prices has risen dramatically, like minumum $40-$50 for a freelancer. This is in addition to their over priced drinks, taxi fares, etc.
Now being close to the border I get all the news here and there are so many murders going on there even with the presence of a large contingent of military. The naysayers will tell you that this only applies to drug traffickers, but it's not true. Bullets do not check identification when they are being sent in the middle of daylight in civilian populated areas and there is a war going on between the MX gov. Now and the traffickers. Also regular low life crime has increased, since it is now hard to catch anyone with so many murders and other crimes going on. The last time I was there I witnessed a gang fight and I felt uncomfortable walking the tourist areas at night. I am a big guy too and rarely get messed with.
Also you have to contend with all the Barney Fife Customs agents now, most of whom are on the US side and they are searching vehicles going INTO Mexico now for weapons and money. I was searched on a public bus going into MX when a drug sniffing dog caught the sent of my cash anti-mugging stash by US Custome goons. It is all such a damn hassle and the prices at the border towns are so high, it's not worth it any more to go there.
YMMV, just my 2 cents.

Getting rolled in the club and then tossed out into the darkenss of Rancho Anapra is a situation I wouldn't want to be in and thats inside the club. Now imagine further of a gringo in Rancho Anapra, tossed out of the club with all those cholos around and then theres the cops wandering around. If the cop activity is bad behind the gym imagine how bad it will be way out there.
I would not be surprised if an American spends a few days in a "house" locked up in a closet way out there in Rancho Anapra. Definetly a "go at your own risk" destination.
If enough Americans go to the new Hollywood the Mexican ecomomy will recover before our ecomomy does.

At Luxxor on Saturday, alot of good looking chicas. Went in with a new girl, Rubi, nice face, slender. Nice GFE experience. DFK, CBJ, nice and with alot of passion, or at least a good actress. The line up is quite good, Lilly, there a few years back, has returned, slender, darker hair and great figure. Suggest go during the week, as it is usually slower, and more girls always available. Weekends a bit more busy. Ashley, Karina, Mida? , all look good, had a service with Ashley a few weeks back. I usually tip good ($ 40) so times are hard, most girls are not doing alot of services so the word of tipping gets around and they are willing to please!

I bet they can kiss their gringo business goodbye being located in such a shitty neighborhood but I wonder if this is an indication this will be the location of the new zona. I hope so, I need the work.

It's been about 8 years since I've to Juarez. As luck would have it I'm going to be in El Paso tonight. From what I remember, there where some good bars with working girls after you cross the walking bridge down a few blocks turn right and then a left. Is this area still the same? With all the shit happening in that town I'd like to make sure things haven't changed. I'd hate to walk over for nothing or to get into problems. Any help you local guys could give would be helpfull.

Pm is a local newspaper, sort of like EL PESO in Chihuahua or EL METRO in Mexico City.
I think they start selling it around 12 o clock. You can't miss it, its on newstands and guys are selling it on almost every street corner. But you got to move fast because around 3 or 4 in the afternoon their gone. It costs 5 pesos, around a.35 cents.
