Hey guys, I found this forum a few months ago but my first mongering trip was a few weeks ago. I recently hit up Tangas and the selection was fair. I took a cab because initially I thought I did not know where the place was, but after arriving I realized I have passed by that place hundreds of times. The cabbie charged me 50 pesos to take me from the Santa Fe Bridge to there so it was not that bad. The girl on stage was a bit chunky but she was putting on a show for everybody. I was in J town a few weeks ago and took a cab to masajes because of the violence and crooked cops. Does anyone have suggestions for alternate ways of getting to Felinas, Siluetas, El Encanto, and Sirenas so I don't have to pay the cab tip (propinas)?

Any advice from members would be much appreciated.

For Sirenas and El Encanto, take a cab to Villa Manport hotel, which is across the street from Sirenas. Tell cabbie you're going to meet friend at hotel. Or you can ride the Circunvalacion bus to Villa Manport hotel, (I think).

For Siluetas and Felinas, take a cab to corner of Jose Borunda and Peru. Tell cabbie your're going to meet friend in that area. (Felinas, and Siluetas are right there.) To get back to bridge, from Siluetas, ask the guy working at Siluetas, or the woman working at Felinas, how to do that, or if they can call you a cab. From Siluetas, or Felinas, you could walk back to 16th de Septiembre, and catch a bus, or maybe a cab back to El Centro.

Print out a map of Juarez, and show cabbie where you want to go. I have a map in my pocket, and can show cabbie where I want to go. I never get lost in Juarez, because I have my map in my pocket. Cops won't steal your map, they'll just steal your money. Hide your money.

When going to Siluetas, STAY AWAY FROM Aristos/Eduardos club, which is only about 1 block away from Siluetas. Drug gang members hang out at this club. Several drug related shootings at this club. Below is map and photo of Aristos/Eduardos Club.

Travel to the MPs has been discussed at depth. Other than cabs, are driving, walking, buses, or a combination of walking and buses, about only options.

Thanks for all the positive comments guys. A member was asking earlier about aries mp and the mps around zaragoza. I've been to these mps several times. Theres actually 3 within walking distance of the bridge. Aries is hit or miss, and in my opinion it is mostly a miss. The next one heading south is a little better although the last time I tried this place it was a big miss. The next one after that is the worst. Full of gorditas. Although I must say that the last place had a very atractive lady working about a year back. You can go and check if you like. Thats always fun. If you're just going for girls it's not much different from Juarez. For tourism it might be worthwhile. It's cleaner than Juarez and I didn't feel like I had as big of a target on my back. It's an industrial city like Juarez but doesn't have that frantic border town feel.

Remember mongers, Sirenas (400 pesos) is just a couple of blocks away from El Encanto, so if El Encanto won't play ball for 400 pesos, you can always just walk down to Sirenas. Let's fight inflation.
