Juarez is perfectly safe. I am about as white as a guy can get, I speak no Spanish, I go to Juarez every few weeks or so for food and drinks, never had a single issue. I have never felt threatened, never been harassed by the police, never been robbed, I love it over there.

I have always been a big proponent of paying in pesos, but the dollar / peso exchange rate has been somewhat fluid lately. At Stoya the cost is "$500 pesos or $25 dollars. " On my most recent visit (last Friday), I paid with dollars and saved a couple of them. Paying in pesos would have set me back about $27.

The difference isn't much-- and sessions at Juarez MPs are still an incredible bargain-- but a penny saved is. A penny saved for the next lady.

I stopped by Stoya yesterday for some afternoon delight. My chica informed me that the standard charge is now $500 mn. Considering that the peso has lost value dramatically over the past year, it should come as no surprise that MP rates have risen. Sorry this is late. I'm going to copy and paste a report I posted on a different website, if that's OK.

I had another visit to Juarez last Saturday, Nov. 5. I stayed in El Paso at the Holiday Inn Express downtown. I was getting ready to head down to the border around 5 or 6 PM when a huge thunderstorm hit. Torrential rain and hail. It caused flooding that shut down I-10 and snarled traffic for hours. As I entered Mexico, I saw why there wasn't anyone entering. The streets were all under water. There were no taxis moving. I saw 2 parked, but neither driver wanted to go anywhere. The streets themselves weren't too bad, but the intersections had 1-2' of water. After about 20 minutes, I saw a large taxi sedan slowly moving away from the border entrance. I thought it was a ruta taxi, but it was just a big, old regular taxi. I asked to go to San Souci and he said $5. We started moving slowly through the flooded streets. It turns out that San Souci was pretty close, but as we approached, we saw that the flooding was up to the steps of the entrance. The street was under 1 1/2 feet of water, and the sidewalk about 6 ". There were people in the doorway and it was open, but I had no intention of slogging through all that water in my nice leather shoes. So I asked him to go to Caligula.

We had to zig-zag through town to go around all the really deep intersections. We finally got there, and it was closed! So I was immediately down to my last club. I passed through the "Arts District". It was about 11 PM, and there were only a handful of people walking. I passed a couple of low-key bars that had a few people in them. One of the bars near the hotel had the door open, and I saw a floozy at the bar that looked OK. If I hadn't nutted already, I would have stopped. Arrived at the hotel, and it felt like coming home.

Went to Siluetas the other day. Baseline price now 400 pesos, up from 300. I would imagine other 300 peso MPs are doing the same.

Prices are not set in stone, you have to at least haggle them down to what everyone pays which is about 300-400 pesos, SToya is the only exception they are 600-800 but they are upscale.
