You should keep the prescription, IF you plan to bring any prescription of this type back across the border. Had some dental work done in the past, received a prescription, had it filled, kept the prescription, cleared the U.S. side with no problems. If you bring a prescription back to the U. S. with out the prescription without the prescription you be in "a world of hurt" if they check you.

From what was explained to me by a bike cop, you can be in a world of hurt in Mexico as well, if you aren't able to provide the paperwork/script for a 'controlled substance' medication that you may have filled there.

Also, a Farmacia told me there were two types of drug stores - one that is licensed/permited to dispense those types of controlled/regulated meds and those that aren't; the latter always carrying anitbiotics and the like that America needs a script for.

I had surgery over there, and doc gave me a RX, even put on it pills that he gave me so I would not have to buy, but were there on paper for our friends in customs..

I figured I could pull it off and I did. Walked over got my stuff and walked back. The official asked for my birth certificate, I played dumb: "no sir I didn't know that." He said: what? its been on the news for two years, then proceeded to to do computer check on me (Im clean no legal issues), handed me a paper said: read this, and then sent me on my way. I had my meds in hand and almost always declare them, he didn't even ask.

I won't be visiting again until my papers are in order for sure, not worth it.

That is the law, but if you look some will sell anyway. Believe it or not, Mexico has controlled substances laws too, and pharmacies are supposed to log transactions.
Narcotic drugs are not OTC.
Meds I bought after surgery, the store filled RX and then gave it right back to me, I could have gone to other stores and had it filled again, and again.
One item on the Rx was an injection, for which I was given an ampule of drug and a syrenge, I took it to a clinic that charged me 30 pesos to administer it.
Surgery was a full hip replacement.

could get you in seriuos trouble. just make sure you declare them if asked, cause if they search and find, problems. even if declared, pain meds may be confirep001ed, unless you have a mexican doctor prescribe them.

It's only a week into it I bet they would let me slide. I'm ordering a new BC tomorrow but sure would like to drive down and cross over the next day or two. Technically, they open at 9am, but I've been there early once, at 9:20ish, and was asked to come back 15 minutes later cause they weren't ready; still warming & setting up the rooms, and only 2 girls had just stumbled in.

Add to the strictness at Genesis: they seem to be uptight about rubbers, both their use, and you get only one.

I hesitate to reiterate (with enough grease you can fry an elephant) I have not found one girl there that makes you use one for BJ. In fact sometimes I ask to use one so I don't cum too soon and they balk because they think I won't tip as much.
