I was thinking of making a fun run down to either NL or Reynosa, but one good monger buddy had a mix up and lost his DL and (expired) passport yesterday. Those were his only photo IDs. He has one credit card with his first and last name but that's it. Will he get hassled trying to re-enter states after weekend?

Is there a new rule in Mexico that you have to obtain a visa to walk across the bridge now? I heard rumors that you need to present your passport to Mexican authorities to obtain a free visa even if you are not going into the interior.
Thanks.

Is there a new requirement that Americans need to have their passport or passport card and obtain a temporary visa just to cross the border into Mexico? I have been hearing rumors of this.
Thanks

I may have the chance to get down to Laredo in two weeks and I was wondering if the Montera club is still the center of the downtown action. I was also wondering if the trucker vans are still operating at mile 12 on I35.
Or maybe I should just go to Reynosa instead as it is the same distance for me. The last time I was there I had a good time at the Montera and at Safari in Boystown but it has been a couple of years.
Thanks

Posts: 66The best time to visit NLBT is during the day on the weekends. It might look dead, but it's not.
You just have to know which doors to knock on, and what bars to go to.
The police check point has not been a problem since June 2011 when the army kicked them out.
The druggies are there 24/7, but usually are not too active until after it gets dark.
Any time from 8 AM to 8 PM is more or less safe, and you will have a good time for very little money.
No ficha fucks or high prices or disgusting people like downtown.
Just take the Mirador bus and you are there in 20 minutes for 8 pesos.
I have been doing this for years, and have only been mugged once!

Then, as of late, NL really tried to pump attention into a third feature: narcotics. While yes, there is narcotic / meth / cocaine presence regardless. It's Mexico. NL just made it a thing for narcotics at Boystown, so much narcotics, they've lost their focus on the beer and the women. Narcotics is attracting the WRONG kind of audience in a brothel. Horny skirt chasers and drug addicts just cannot exist in the same environment, and that's what's been hurting NLBT.
The top heads of Reynosa have taken note, and somehow enforce how much narcotic activity goes on, it still happens, but somehow the property and the dealers are mutually aware that too much dealing is going to chase off horny Americans and degrade the quality of brothel life. Still want a fix. Go do that somewhere else. Reynosa's zona seems content on focusing on booze and skirts. NLBT? Not so much.
His words, not mine.
