I just assumed that since we were in the Mexico forum that it would be implied that was in Pesos.

Tru' dat! Very obscure fact, but true. There are many countries that use the peso or the dollar and almost all use the "$" sign. In currency trading, and to be clear in general, it is common to write $US or $COP or $MXN, etc.

Of course the rate is not US$1500. MEX$1500 is US$75.
To distinguish it from other currencies using the $ symbol, the peso is sometimes written as M $, MX $, or MEX $. The symbol MXN replaced the former symbol, MXP.

Sorry, but I am not your "dude."

I'm sure he means pesos. But 500-700 is the norm. 1000 to 1500 is the price they quote strangers that they think can afford it. Trust that, I've lived her 14 years.

    Nuevo Laredo Friday night

I made a pass through Nuevo Laredo Friday evening. I arrived around 5 and got a room at the Fiesta Hotel about 4 blocks from the border. Room was $600 pesos plus $200 deposit. The room was clean and the air conditioner was cold. No issues about bringing in girls. BBond helped me out finding an agency. They had a girl there in less than an hour. She was a little older looking than her pics but close enough. Damage was $1500 for an hour. Later that night I walked around downtown. There were no issues finding ladies out and about. The prices ranged from $1000 to $500 per hour. I didn't feel threatened or nervous while I was walking around. Just stay aware and out in the open and it shouldn't be an issue. Until it is. The Federal police roll through occasionally and everyone kind of stands around waiting on them to leave. Saturday morning I checked out, got my $200 back, and was through customs within 30 minutes of leaving my hotel.

Texas state is not worried about human trafficking. They're worried about sex between consenting adults.

Stuck eating Shitty yet expensive airport food, and I'm going to need several expensive airport drinks to keep me from losing my shit. Cab to airport $30 ish each way but still cheaper than long term parking. Cab / Uber from San Diego to border $60-70 each way It adds up.
I totally get that little things add up, but it is your choice to spend on those extra things. I can live without alcohol for 8 hours if necessary. The trolley from San Diego to the border is $2. 50 and only takes 10-20 minutes longer than a cab.

What gets me is the prices going up even with COVID. It's the Mexican way that when customers leave and there is less money coming in you raise prices to make up the difference -- most people would think you'd reduce prices to encourage people to return. It makes some sense the way they do it -- the only people who are there now are the desperate ones who want pussy no matter the cost. But I can't get over how a $60 girl two years ago is insisting on $100 for 30 minutes now. With a room, tips, and buying her one drink, that's $140 for a half hour.

It's the little things that add up plus the current state of the airline industry. I spent about $300 just getting there and back.

My direct 7:50 am flight was delayed 2 hours as soon as I passed security. I got a $4 coffee and sat at the unopened bar and thought about going back home and coming back later. I live about 20 minutes from ABIA but it's a $22-36 cab / Uber each way so decided to wait it out. Bar opens and get a message flight delayed again another hour. So I order a jack and coke for $11. As I'm finishing my drink my flight gets canceled. Get a message that my flight has been rebooked through Denver at 4 pm with a 2 hour layover there. Order another jack and coke because I'm fuming! Get hungry an eat an $11 dry sandwich. Get to Denver have two more drinks, not as expensive BTW. Finally get on my flight get to San Diego and take a $70 Uber to the border. Take a $5 cab to my hotel. Seems to be $5 no matter where you go. Uber is a little cheaper but difficult to book standing at the border. $2.50 Uber from hotel to the zona $5 cab back and be sure to confirm before getting into the cab, if not $7. Sure you can say FU and get out but he's going to want $2 for getting in. Coming back to the border crossing is completely unpredictable. Could be 30 minutes, could be 10 hours this 2.5, $60 to $70 to back to the airport, flight home is delayed by 3 hours. Another $11 sandwich and may as well have few drinks. $26 cab / Uber to get home. And sure there's a $5 trolley from San Diego and back but it's over an hour, you most likely have to stand the whole time, everyone is looking at you like they know what you're up to and after dealing with the airline and the line at the border plus your clothes still smell like the chicas at Hong Kong. The whole thing is a big pain in the ass. The chicas are unbelievable tho so.

I haven't been to NL since the early 2000's and have no idea where to go or how to go about it. I haven't been to Boys Town since the early 90's. Anyway, I live in Austin would like to make the trip down soon but only available during the week. Is the Zona open during the week? Are there bars in town that have ladies such as the old Huradura? Would anyone be interested in meeting up and showing me the lay of the land so to speak?

Nuevo Laredo is no where what it once was, but still plenty available. I live here and am usually available, shoot me a PM and we can work out a meeting.

The zona itself is relatively safe, it's getting there and back that can be somewhat dangerous, but I know people that make that trip almost every night, without any issues. Even with almost 30 bars now open in the zona, it is still but a shell of it's former self.
Thanks for the info Bbond. I appreciate it. What makes going to and from the zona dangerous exactly? Thanks.
