I said taxi from HC, which is the Hotel Centro on Nacataz, to Boys Town costs 50 pesos. I know this because I got a taxi from Hotel Centro a couple times and never paid more than 50 pesos. And from Hotel Centro to Montera I paid 50 pesos and actually only paid 40 pesos from Hotel Centro to the Bridge which is farther. I got the bridge rate twice and the same rate back to the Hotel Centro.

You can get a better rate from BT but only if you go to the group of taxis and haggle with them. Each of them want to get your business and if you are willing to haggle you can get back to the bridge for 80 pesos. The later at night you try it the harder it will be. In fact they often try to charge 13 or more dollars, but just go to the next driver and ask him.

I've been reading some other reports and it seems that the GFE is pretty common in NL.

Back in 2000 I went to NL and met a nice girl from Monterrey in the Herradura and she said she didn't go to the cuartas (rooms). The place is clean and comparable to local titties bars in the U.S. By Mexican standards it is very nice.

The girls are clean, well groomed, sophisticated, and friendly with few exceptions. You will find most shapes and sizes but not a dog in the place. No fatties, or scrawnies, or Ed Zacharys. Well that's not entirely true. The woman who cleans the rooms is a troll doll and she wandered out into the bar area for some reason. But hey if that's your thing then knock yourself out.

The chairs are plush, there's sports on the Big Screen which is located right next to the stage. Sports and pole dancing! What a combination!

Buy a girl a drink for 10 bucks and she will sit on your lap until the drink is finished. Different girls do different things. Some want to maul you with their balloons and others will make out with you. You can touch them, and they can and will touch you. If you are discreet you can do a little bit more but only if you are careful. The girls know how much is too much and they are nimble with their bodies and will cock block you if you try too much.

I never went to the cuartos. I found a nice girl that I liked a lot and I bought her for the whole night. Her name is Mara and she is a kisser. Special recommendations: If I had it to do over again I would go to BT on a Tuesday night. The work week for many women there is Tuesday through Saturday and they return home to Monterrey for 2 days to visit family. So you can expect them to be fresh, clean, and well rested Tuesday night. You might not have as big of selection at BT but Club Danash it won't be a problem. I was there on a Tuesday only to look around and the selection was still good, but traffic was slow. Slow traffic in a H.House is a good thing my friends!

I also recommend going to the Montera and Herradura on weeknights as well. There is less competition for the better looking women, less smoke, and better service.

Current exchange rate is 11 pesos for 1 dollar. So sometimes it is better to pay in pesos when they ask for dollars. Most people will give you a 10-1 exchange even though the bank gives 11-1. I use this to my advantage repeatedly.

ATM costs 2% of the withdrawal amount. For instance I withdrew from my bank 5000 pesos. I paid 9. 08$ fee and the bank deducted 454. 17 from my account. So if you get in a jam an ATM is a good option late at night or if you don't to cross back over and go to a Texas Bank. By the time you pay for a taxi to the bridge, and get another taxi to the bank or walk you really won't have saved any money or time. That is unless you want to bring over your 3 months supply of Viagra or go back to the car and get some clean clothes or something.

I went to NL last week and just got back. I had a great time despite the decline of NL from the Cartel War. I have a great time everywhere I go though.

I first want to say I'm new here and this is my first post. NL is the only place I've ever gone to Monger and this last trip has really inspired me to learn more.

Some things that have not been talked about (that I have seen) are the bars that are close to the border. In particular, the Herradura, Montero, and Del Rey.

The locations of these places can be had by talking to a guide. I know them by heart but I can't remember the street. I can give directions.

Across the bridge, up Guerrerra (main drag heading south) You will come to a farmacia (pharmacy) on the right with a pay phone on the corner of the building. This is only a few blocks in. Usually there are guides standing on that corner. If you walk to the pay phone, which is on the south side of the cross street and follow the side walk west about 50 feet you will see the Montera. It's a dive bar and damn it is a scary place when you first walk in. I about pissed myself when a guide took me in there years ago. It's dark, smells bad during the day, and it is a basement bar.

The good news is it's actually a very friendly place. I've never been bothered there and the beer is cheap. About a dollar for a beer and about 2. 5$ for a beer for a woman. The woman get's about half of that money back from bartender later on.

Female quality varies here. Whatever you want you can find sooner or later. Some girls speak excellent English. Others not so great or none at all. I met a nice blanca with very curly hair who lived in Houston most of her life until she was deported at age 17. She has 2 kids, and it shows but her clothing was flattering and her personality stellar. It was early in the week and I hadn't gotten into mongering mode yet. Her name is Sandibel, (sandi) and we drank and talked all night. We were shit faced by the time we closed the bar down and I didn't see her there again all week. That was my fault I'm sure. I told her that USA Law allowed her to sue her ex-boyfriend who is a USA Citizen, for child support. I told her she could contact a lawyer in his town and sue him and it wouldn't cost her a penny.

If you've reached the pay phone and want to go to the Herradura (horse shoe) you can turn left and go east on the same street. You will pass a Tacos Al Pastor shop and a dance place on the right. When you get to the corner turn left (north) and the Herradura is on the North West corner and face east.

Herradura is cleaner, larger, and usually has live music. Years ago they used to play pornos on the TVs. I remember a gringo couple came in and sat down next to me. I struck up a conversation and asked them if they knew where they were? I pointed out the television and you could see the light bulbs going off.

Girls in this bar work for beer as well. There are no booths to sit in like the Montera (I use the term "booth" loosely. McDonalds has booths too and Montera's could be from an old Micky the's.) The girls in the H vary in quality, but you can find some nice ones if your patient.

The Del Rey is up Guerrerra and turn left at the Pollo Loco. It will be down on the left. It's a shotgun style bar with pornos on the TV. It smelled like stale beer and pine sol in the afternoon and the women weren't much to look at.

The process here is to meet someone you like, and if you want to have sex negotiate a price. I recommend you verify all service in advance. There are rooms nearby you can use. The one nearest the Herradura is spartan, but clean. I recommend using your own hotel room and paying for a taxi back to the bar for the girl.

After dark there are women who work out in the street. They are normally dressed, by Mexican standards, which means they can look pretty hot. Don't expect a great attitude from these women.

Some things to remember is don't drink in public. I saw a Canadian guy get arrested who was standing right next to me with a cup of beer in his hand. This was after the Montera closed down. He will most likely end up getting robbed and having his atm card drained.

Also, always practice safe sex with these girls. There are no medical check ups like in Boys Town.

Hotel: If you want to drive to NL a nice hotel to stay at is the Hotel Centro on Nacataz. Just head south on Guerrerra until you get to Nacataz and turn right. It's about 2. 5 blocks down on the right. There is plenty of parking in the patio area, a pool, a restaurant, and the rooms are air conditioned and have phone and cable. The hot water wasn't very hot in my room so make sure you verify hot water before you settle in. It was so damn hot outside I didn't really care at the time.

Of special note is a nice woman in her 40's in the restaurant. Her name is Olivia and she is a ***** even though she probably doesn't think of it. I was swimming in the pool and she came out and struck up a conversation with me. It was polite at first and got a little flirty later. I eventually asked her for breakfast in bed and she said to call and order in the morning. She actually called me and in a few minutes brought me some juevos rancheros and after placing the tray down sat on the bed. (A clear indicator of intentions my friends) I did her doggy style and then cowgirl. It was nice and I gave her a 40 peso tip. (4$) She made herself available to me repeatedly, but I declined as I was wanting to spread it around a bit.

This was not a rare experience. Every time I come to NL I meet a nice girl who just likes white guys. I go out with them and have a good time and I don't pay them, or if I do it's in the form of gifts and such. Granted a fine line, but in this instance I'm sure you agree 4$ was hardly equivalent to what I received.

There has been street flooding in NL since this past Sunday. Water is a good 1 to 2 feet high on the main street/highway which takes you towards BT as well as many of the city streets. I can imagine getting to BT will be hell unless you know NL well enough to get around or of course if you take a taxi. National weather service reporting (this is on weather.com) that the Rio Grande is flooding into the lower levels of the parking lots by the bridge in Laredo.

I imagine this will clear up in a day or two as long as there is no more rain.

I sleep in the zona, $25 a night, no luxuries but it's in the zona.
A bed, a shower and a toilet, A/C in most rooms, need more than that?

I tried that $25 a night room too, BBond, when we drove down from San Antonio together. The bed was a little hard and only one bulb in the ceiling light, but for $25 it was not too bad. I suppose some of the girls from Pappa's could be had for TLN in the room, but it was quite simple and rustic.

I think I will try the NL Holliday Inn next time.

Danash will be closed. I know for sure that Pappas will be open and I'm sure that Tamyko is open on Sunday night also. Pullman will probably also be open and there will be a few room girls out. I used to really like Sunday nights in BT, but the last couple of years Sunday nights have sucked. Yes there are clubs open, and girls to have, but most of the best looking ones will have already gone home.

I went to NLBT this past Memorial Day weekend. Went to NLBT on Saturday night, and then drove down to Reynose for Sunday night. All the clubs were open.
