This past Friday, I needed to walk across, at 8:15 am. Ped line was all the way back to Ocampo Street. I was in Laredo 20 minutes later. The sister cities appealed to CBP for assistance in the long wait times and so far it has helped, every check station inside was manned and the wait times greatly reduced.

The $300 is bridge crossing fee for a year. (28 pesos for regular users, each trip). Many Sentri users, that live in Mexico, cross almost daily, so that $300's actually saves them money. I don't know if there is a way for infrequent Sentri users to pay on a per crossing basis. Since the renovations on the bridges, Sentri is now bridge 1 only, and that bridge is reserved for Sentri users only, M-F 6 am to 9 am.

SENTRI is the fast lane bridge crossing program. Completely separate from the interior permit.

I got lucky in 2016, drove to Mty from Reynolds since no one was manned at the Reynosa checkpoint.

In 2018 not as lucky at NL, even for one or 2 days they made me turn around and get an interior windshield decal. Cost was $60 with refundable $400 deposit (which they refunded to my card upon returning).

Pissed me off because once I had my paperwork in order came back to checkpoint and different set of guards didn't bother checking they just waved me thru!

If I could re-do Mty, I would park, go to NL Bus Station and get a $25 rt to Mty, and when there either ride cabs a la carte or ride to nearest car rental and rent a car for my stay.

Heads up: MX car rental prices on sites like Priceline / Hotwire are No Where near out-the-door price. They say $8/ day on PL then you get there. They say $8/ day is for car you need to purchase $20/ day insurance fees etc by law. Not sure if there's a way to decline tack ONS like that.

I'm sure there is an annual $300 window sticker option, just not for me.

If you avoid Saturday and Monday the way that's not bad at all. Are usually crash between 7 AM and 8 AM and I've never waited more than 30 minutes, but avoid the peak times.

Most likely I will meet a girl and I won't want to come back at 6 30 in the morning just to beat the lines coming back to the USA and work on Monday. Hopefully I will be approved and be able to use it. I am going to Monterrey in 2 weeks, I hope. I asked for a whole week off. I plan on staying for a whole week there. I am not very good at writing reviews but knowing me I will be wanting to write something. But I will probably be going to Nuevo Laredo allot if I get that global entry pass. The covered parking above the bus station is the best. Covered so not hot, 24-HR security, still close to the border crossing.

    Weird.

People starting to make this like the Tijuana forum. Come on. Scared to come dow?? I have lived here 10 years, cross regularly. It's no big deal.

Basically? The lot above the bus station. Seems to be the place of choice.

Sort of, yes. But there was more to it than just that. They allowed the girls to "ficha", guys pay 35 or 40 pesos for a beer and the girl got a 20 peso kick back in the form of a small chip or "ficha" that they turned in at the end of the night for cash. Many many girls were very unhappy when that stopped, they made tons of money of of it. The vast majority of those beers bought for the fichas were not drank, eithe poured them of the floor, passed them to a friend, or in the case where fools bought them buckets of beer at ficha prices, beers were dumped directly into the bucket when customer wasn't looking. The Herradura, before it closed, was also a "ficha" bar, but girls were paid cash directly. The Intimo, still open, used a laminated paper ticket for their fichas. There are short time dive motels next to the Montera where girls could take clients if the guy didn't have his own hotel room. I cannot, comfortably, discuss the other issue. Some things are best left alone.

Falkirk, become a paid member. It's only $20 a year and worth every cent. The assistance experts like Bbond and others around the world is a hundred times worth it. The PM feature allows you to receive more personal or "sensitive" information.

You have to be either a paid subscriber, or a senior member, to use the PM section. Posting personal info is not permitted.

It's done now, anyone crazy enough to re-open it with the hope it will revert to the days of old, has not done their research. There; s a lot more to the story, I cannot publicly post it.
