Nuevo Laredo is Under Martial Law.

    Story Created: Jun 22, 2011.

    Story Updated: Jun 23, 2011.

No major media outlets are reporting it, but several hundreds soldiers and marines are en route to Nuevo Laredo, Tamps. (MX) to try and get a grip on a violent few months in our Sister City. Several websites report that Nuevo Laredo, Tamps. (MX) is essentially under martial law as the military moves in and relieves city police officers. Soldiers were seen at police headquarters seizing guns.

It comes as the federal and state government move into a new phase of security efforts in an attempt to turn up the heat on local drug cartels.

More troops are expected to move into the city to beef up security, and it's not just in Nuevo Laredo but the whole state of Tamaulipas.

Last week demonstrators took to the bridges to protest military presence. Many claim those holding signs and chanting "no more military" were paid as much as a $100 a day by cartel members to protest at the bridges.

Drug cartels don't want that information out; therefore, the Mexican media is not reporting it.

What that exactly means is a bit unclear at the moment, but hopefully that includes NLBT, will know more later.
It made CNN let us know what changes occur. Thanks.

Compared to the old days when 100's of gringos visited BT.

For the night I wonder how many actually go there now?

and i would venture to say that every police officer in nl, along with the police chief of nl, and the mayor of nl, knows what's going on with the police corruption/robbery at bt, and let they allow it to continue. it would be very easy to stop, but they're making too much money off of it.

the cops are planting knives in trucks, etc. gotta make that money.

Boystown is about 3 miles from bridge #1.

For newbies here, you walk across bridge #1 to get to Nuevo Laredo. You are not allowed to walk across bridge #2. You can drive across either bridge. To return to U.S. side, you again walk across bridge #1, not #2.

Here's a better B & W map of boystown in NL by Cool Beans. The one I posted a couple of post below, didn't come out right.

Second step is to find a girl, and this is where I get confused. From what I understand, not all girls are working. So how do you find out without getting slapped or killed? Also, what is the pricing structure. BT was easy. What about in downtown. I DO NOT want to overpay. Also. What is the price for Fiesta?

If we can get a "for dummies" answer here that summarizes all the key points. I will be a happy person and ready to hit downtown and will owe you!
The girls will let you know if they are working. I speak little Spanish so the girls will do the following with me, stare at me, rub my arms back, call me baby, ask to sit with me, demand drink, ask for drink, ask to go to my room and the always popular fukky suckky long time statement.

If a girl does not do that I ask a waiter about her. Most will wave them over if working.

I have seen girls get drinks all night then leave for my room after their dates leave them. They approach me once the bar gets slow. I offer my fiesta hotel and away we go.

For those that are unhappy with the current situation at NLBT, and who isn't unhappy about it, consider the boystown in Reynosa.

I saw this in the Matamoros section. This is boystown in Nuevo Laredo. Watch out for crooked cops at entrance gate. They are running off a lot of business.
