I attempted, more than once, to renew my subscription to PM you. Regardless, was thinking of coming down this weekend, Saturday. Leaving Monday morning. Haven't been since 2013 but a bare I was thinking of and the I believe it was called the Montero was still open and then a few places around the area. Anything I should know before heading south. There is a bar in La Zona called Secrets that is starting to give Danash a run for its money. You ought to check it out. I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

The first time I walked into Papaguayos was in 2006. I do remember Karla. I talked with her on several occasions and bought her a couple of drinks as well as I recall. But nothing beyond that. Boy, does your mention of Karla bring back some fond memories of Papaguayos. La Patrona Ophelia, the juke box, the cool meseros, the taco stand outside. Those were the times and Ophelia really knew how to run that place. I miss it a lot. I know you mentioned Danash in one of your previous posts. That was another great place in its heyday. There is a bar in La Zona called Secrets that is starting to give Danash a run for its money. You ought to check it out. I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

I was thinking about hitting NL this weekend. I have been to NL before but not recently. I know some things have changed. I was wondering about the situation on the ground because I heard about the pre-election violence that was happening earlier this month. I would like to hear your insight.

Haven't been since around 2003, had a lot of good times. Thinking of coming down next Thur. Want to grab a beer? Used to hit Boystown when we went with a short stop downtown to loosen up. Sounds like downtown might be the way to go now.

Boystown is a lot different now than it was on 2003, still some bars with girls but nothing like it was then. Give me notice when you plan to arrive and I will try and be available.

Not familiar with the mansion in Tijuana, so can't offer any help there. There are basically 4 hotels in NL where frequent visitors stay. All are walking distance to the downtown bar area. All are girl friendly. They are all just basic, but get the job done.

If you, as a non regular visitor, decide to visit Nuevo Laredo I suggest you come on a Wednesday or Thursday, in order to get a feel of the places before the craziness that happens on Friday and Saturday nights. If that doesn't work, come earlier in the day, on a weekend, as bars get quite full later. I am usually available to help you get familiar with the area.

If you just want a quick fuck, then one of the street touts near Emelianos bar, the first bar walking down Gurerro will find you something, might not be the greatest, but maybe acceptable.

On Tuesday I will be in Laredo till around 2 and have to be in San Antonio at 9 ish. Will it be a waste of time to cross over? Also I speak no Spanish, how big of a problem is that? This newbie needs guidance.

I am going to cross the border and go to Nuevo Laredo for the first time this weekend.

Just wanted to get some info from previous visitors if there's any daytime action available or all action starts at night?

I plan to leave my car at the border and cross by foot and then use taxis.

If staying the night, where do you guys usually stay in Nuevo Laredo? Safe to walk from hotels to Boystown or taxis safe?

Let us know what your experience was. I might want to take a quick trip.
