Maybe they want to force us mongers to go to boys town. I remember when I was in the Army my first trip to Nuevo Laredo in 1963 the clubs were scattered around the town but before I got out in 1966 the had built boys town and moved the clubs their.

It's been 2 years since I have visited Nuevo Laredo. Back in 2012, Taxis quit running after midnight. Do Taxis run / offer service after midnight now? I am thinking about coming to Nuevo Laredo sometime in the near future and would like to possibly visit NLBT / La Zona. I read that you visited NLBT / La Zona late night on a weekend not too long ago and that it was extremely packed / crowded with people. Is it dangerous for a Gringo to be in NLBT / La Zona late night on a weekend?

Taxis are available downtown for rides to the zona, it's getting back that is the issue as they no longer hang out there. Week nights very few people visit there, so the chance of getting a ride back to centro is slim. Weekends are very crowded due to locals visiting the locals bars, there are several that pack up completely. The bars for the younger crowds are crazy, open only on weekends, with fights every night, sometimes girls sometimes guys. I talked to the lady that runs the green building motel, across from what used to be pimp daddys, she says that place is crazy. The zona is no where near what it was in the past. Safari, Marthas, and Secrets are the only bars I would recommend, and only before 1 am. Personally I will never go out there again on a weekend, not that I didn't feel safe it's just too damn crowded.

For a while they were maintaining, somewhat, the streets in the zona, at least grading the ruts out, my last visit, I drove out, was sure glad it had not rained as the streets are terrible.

Does anyone know of a hotel / motel that is accessible to a person in a wheelchair? Ground level with ramp at door making it easier to enter. Are there any places that can be called that will deliver a lady to said room? Any locals know of a lady who might be of interest? Suffered a heart attack and stroke 7/1/14 and just released from hospital and rehab 9/21/14. Looking to make one last trip to Nuevo Laredo. I know NL streets are not wheelchair friendly.

One of the classier hotels might be wheel chair friendly, I have never used one, so not sure. I mean like Crown Plaza or Holiday Inn Express, places like that. I moved back to California and really miss NL and those days. Last time I saw you was in the Blue Fox. Good place but shut down due to 2 people killed there. Uhm, I thought some monger here posted awhile back that he stayed at some hotel on Guerrero about 5 blocks down on the west side of the street, and that he liked that hotel better than the Fiesta downtown. Sorry, I don't remember name of hotel, or who the monger was who posted this info. Centexcrash, Rickymichaels, I don't recall who it was.

Yes, this hotel is great and has secure parking in the back. It is across from the plaza about 5 blocks from the border on Guerrero. Great air conditioning and location compared to Fiesta where I have stayed many times.

It's been awhile since I've been to NL as I moved back to Cali. Safari and Secrets in NlBt are pretty good places to go. Was there 2 months ago. Coming to NL on 10/25.

Jorrochos, just down the street from Montera on Hidalgo, lost their late night permit, so some nights they don't open at all. They are working on getting that back. Boystown can be hit or miss, I would not recommend going real late either Friday or Saturday as it fills, and I mean fills, with locals. I got talked into going a few weeks ago, shit, never on the weekends late again.

Other than that, boystown can be a good option, Safari relocated next to Marthas, and the bar diagonally across the street, name escapes me, Secrets or something like that, have girls until about 1 am or so. There are others too, but the main places I just mentioned.

Reading Bbonds report it looks to me that the local authorities are trying to force the activity to boys town which was the the reason it was created in the early 60's.
