Posts: 2125On a first visit to any of the 3 cities listed, I would chose Nuevo Laredo, probably a bit easier to get around here. Also on a first visit it really pays to have someone show you around, until you get a feel for the place, you will find Nuevo Laredo easy to navigate. The street touts, the guys that grab new people and try to offer their service, all know me and don't bother.
Downtown chica action is mainly the Montera, until it closes (at midnight on Sunday) , then to Jorrochos until it closes at 2am or 3am.
For hotels, I always stayed at the Fiesta, close to the bars, and girls know it well.
You don't have PM activated, so I can't pass you my number.
We can arrange a meeting place close to the border if I knew what time you were going to cross.

I will be visiting South Texas border today or Sunday evening. I can go to any one of the three. Please help me decide:
A) Will cross in evening and return tomorrow morning. Which is the safest centro to go to. And which hotels are good.
B) Which are are good night clubs to visit in the city you recommend.
It would be great to speak to you on phone if possible.
Regards,
James.
First visit: where to go between Ciudad Acuna or Piedras Negras or Nuevo Laredo?

Hey guys,
So I haven't been on this forum in a while, but last time I was in NL, my friend was telling me the fun stuff is gradually transitioning from Boystown to the streets of Calle Hidalgo. Maybe I misheard him or he's mis-informed, but maybe someone could verify? Have only been to NLBT three times since May, nothing noteworthy to report. Although this last time, during daylight hours, I had a Mex mechanic replace my car's catalytic converter that went bad for $40, and later that night driving back into Laredo, I made the mistake of telling BP the truth, I had my car worked on, Border Patrol interrogated me for TWO HOURS trying to get me to crack up. Probably would've been quicker to lie and tell them the drugs and aliens are in the trunk of the car in line behind me. Double negatives and unwanted guilt trips and all.
My previous mentioned globe trotting involved a few days in Los Angeles, and while no one was looking I stealth drove the rent car down to San Ysidro for a one nighter in Tijuana. A little bit different from Laredo and Reynosa, and all these mongerings and broken Spanish got me prepped for the role, so no sweat. Some things are different, others are the same.

Anyway, Jizz made it down, we got him laid in boystown, and I think he took at least one from downtown to a room.

Looking for advice since I've never been to nl, I am a Tijuana vet and know how Mexico is but different places different protocols.
Is it safe to go by yourself taking taxis? What are the best strip clubs / bars for p4p on a Sunday evening? How much would it cost to get to these spots? Are taxis readily available to leave these places? I'd appreciate any other tips from nl vets.
Thanks,
Jizz

got stopped tonight, charge was speeding, bullshit, anyway, gf made some phone calls, they let us go. they are afraid of certain elements, gf made a point to ask for those certain elements while we waited their decision, which was they let us go. assholes threatened 72 hours detention. result was we drove away. pays to know people here, bottom line. ok so now we know transitos are corrupt. surprise, huh. yes, this is still mexico, still corrupt to the bone, and not going to change anytime soon.....the old "plata o plomo" still holds...plomo is the biggest fear, and they know that. we got off, no plata, no plomo, so we all ok. bastards anyway......another point, anyone that thinks that things will improve with the policia returning had better have their head checked, they will still fear certain elements, and will watch their p's and q's....don't bite the hand that will cut you down in a heart beat.
for those totally ignorant on what is happening here, bless you, you will find some really interesting women, unless the policia picks them up to extort them, grab them while they are free, there are some gems lately.

Mexicans call for decriminalizing marijuana:
"Since 2007, about 80, 000 people have been killed in turf wars between drug cartels and their clashes with security forces, leading to calls for a change in policy in Mexico, and elsewhere, in the USA-led war on drugs. Wednesday's newspaper advertisement urging the decriminalization of cannabis brought together one of the most diverse coalitions pushing for change in Mexico. Those lobbying included a number of influential figures in public life. Among the signatories were several former ministers from the ruling Institutional Revolutionary Party, famous actors, media tycoon Ricardo Salinas Pliego, one of Mexico's richest men, and 1995 Nobel laureate for chemistry, Mario Molina."
