The dismembered remains of 14 men were found on Tuesday stuffed inside a minivan left near the town hall of a Mexican city on the USA border that is often a flashpoint for the country's drug war, officials said.
The remains were found in downtown Nuevo Laredo just after sunrise packed inside 10 black plastic bags found in the vehicle, the officials said.

It says a warning notice was found along with the bodies.

Is the link for the finding in Spanish. I says the van was found on Calle Maclovio Herrera, between Guerrero and Juarez. Which is also close to the all night restaurant Padrinos.

Another link in Spanish, that one says the note was left by a group saying that they arrived to clean the zetas out of Nuevo Laredo.

I didn't see anyone out front when the taxi entered NLBT. I really don't think there are many Gringos coming to NLBT anymore for the tour guides to make dinero off of. NLBT was dark and looked like a ghost town when the taxi entered NLBT.

I was told that it picks up on Friday and Saturday, locals almost exclusively, after other bars in town close, between 1:30 and 2:00am.

The last time I was in NLBT at night, I had gone out there some local guys at 3:00am on a Saturday night, Sunday morning. The place was packed like I have never seen it, literally wall to wall cars, the locals bars were wall to wall people, we went into Los Arcos and Gattas (formerly Pimp Daddys) , wound at the Star Bar where we could get a table. Left at 5:30 am and it was still extremely crowded. Walking from Los Arcos up to the Star Bar, passed a few door girls still working at that hour, was quoted "100 pesos nada mas" by two of them. I was way too drunk to partake in their services, and I still had to drive home.

Maria from the green building, across from Gattas, told me that Gattas is open Friday and Saturdays only, and usually has at least one fight per night, sometimes guys sometimes girls.

The bar you refer to, the actual name is El Unicorno, I believe, located on Pino Suarez between Hotel Fiesta and Calle Guerrero. It is a gay / lesbian bar, late at night many transvestites hang on the corner there.

Before I had much experience here I was taken there by a girl, she said she liked it because the guys didn't bother her, I ask why, she was pretty, she told me they were all gay, so I am thinking well thanks for bringing me. LOL.

I went back to La Montera pissed as hell and told the owner or manager what she did. He told me if I can point her out the next time I'm there that he will fire her.

Girls in the Montera are all independents, good luck getting her fired, they may ban her a couple weeks, but that's about all, if they even do that. I made my first trip to Nuevo Laredo / NLBT this past Saturday night after a 3 year absence. I made a quick cruise through Montera around 11:00 PM looking for my amigo Bbond, Montera was very crowded, it was packed with people like a can of sardines. Made a quick cruise through Herradura, very few people in Herradura. Found Bbond with a friend of his in Club Intimo. Drank two Indios at Club Intimo with Bbond and his friend. I love Indio cerveza, it's taste kinda reminds me of Shiner Bock. So I call Indio the Mexicano Shiner Bock. Indio is not sold in the USA / Texas. I have looked all over Corpus Christi for it, then read on the internet that Indio beer is not imported to the USA

Around 11:30 PM, I decided I wanted to go to La Zona / NLBT, so I said adios to Bbond and went to La Zona / NLBT. Wound up at Danash at 1:00 AM after visiting Safari-Safari closes at 1:00 AM. I had a very good time with a cute 22 year old Flaquita Bonita chica named Ivy from Monterrey. I left Danash at 6:00 AM. Hey Mckliipsch, thanks for the response. Sounds like the thugs come out after midnight. If I visit NLBT, this sounds crazy, but on my first trip, I would probably ride the trucker van out to NLBT to get feedback from the van drivers about the dangers of NLBT. Then on my subsequent days, I would probably go out there at noon, and stay until the door girls closed up shop. I would ask the door girls about the dangers also, and Maria, at the green building.

Mexico can't get their act together concerning law enforcement. Juarez is fucked up for the same reason. Law enforcement is so focused on extorting money out of people over there, they don't have time to enforce the law. Have they thought about having some patrols out at NLBT, after midnight, to get rid of the thugs out there? Nah, they ain't worried about it.

NLBT was dark, until we reached the area where Safari & Danash are located.

I listened to Bbond about the danger of NLBT after midnight and stayed in the bars-Safari & Danash. Anna told me the same thing, don't go walking around NLBT, that it was dangerous after midnight. I told Anna that I knew taxis didn't come to NLBT after midnight. Anna told me to ask Jaime to drive me back to Hotel Fiesta. I was curious about NLBT door girls but I ain't Superman, I didn't want to possibly tempt fate-get robbed and possibly get fucked up / get my ass kicked. I'm 53 and haven't been in a fight since Jr. High and sure as Hell don't want to start fighting at my age now.

It would possibly be safe to visit NLBT during the day and early evening to partake of NLBT door girls and leave early evening before the bandido ladrones come out after midnight. I was told by a shop owner in El Centro that taxis don't run late night after midnight due to taxi drivers getting robbed.

I was asking Jaime about some of the Papagayo meseros that I knew and liked-Dino, Wijo, the two Miguels-short Miguel & gordo Miguel. Jaime told me that they were working jobs outside of NLBT. That business is very slow at NLBT and there were no jobs at NLBT for them.

I'm wondering about the security situation out at NLBT. Would it be safe for a monger to go to the door girls out there? Are there any security guards out there, or anything like that? Did you see the tour guide with the captain's hat, or Chris, the pesky tour guide?

I'm surprised you had a hard time finding a taxi to take you to NLBT. I think Bbond said you headed out to NLBT around 11:30PM. When I lived in Laredo 2 or 3 years ago, you would have had no trouble catching a taxi out to NLBT at that time of night, so I'm wondering what's up with that.

If I made a trip to NLBT next fall, would it be safe for me to walk around getting with door girls? Or is it safe only if you stay inside the clubs? Needless to say, I'm very curious to know what is going on in NLBT. I like the door girls there, better than the action in the downtown clubs. I'm pretty familiar with the downtown clubs, and I'm not crazy about them. The door girls at NLBT are my type of action.

This is a word of advice for any gringo thinking of driving to Nuevo Laredo. Don't do it. My friend Chente, who lives in Nuevo Laredo, told me his ex wife got her car stolen in her driveway at gun point last week. There is no police force in Nuevo Laredo now, only soldiers. There are a lot of robberies going on. We sat out in front of one of Chentes friends Friday night in NL. There were some suspicious looking people driving by. It is ripe for carjackings. Don't take the chance, please.
