How safe or dangerous would it be for a gringo who speaks no Spanish to visit Nueva Laredo? My intention would be to visit during daylight hours on a Saturday or Sunday. Just intend to walk around the town a bit and maybe have a meal.

Daylight hours should not be a problem, just avoid any offers of help from local touts and guides.

Finding a decent meal in the downtown area, close to the bridges, is another challenge, depends on your tastes and tolerances.

The bars Herradura (Horseshoe) and Jorrachos, are now both open until 5 am on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. The selection of girls working has been interesting, to say the least, lately.

Posted on 1/16/11. A new bar, The Bar Blue Fox has opened downtown. Located on the SE corner of Ocampo at Pino Suarez, across the street from from the Motor Hotel Fiesta.

Owned by the same owner as the Shamrock in NLBT, girls from the Shamrock can be found there. Friday night was slow but Saturday there was about 6 Shamrock girls working in there.

Recenty I went downtown and found another bar that I didn't know about called the Rumba Bar apparently its owned by the same people as the mina. I went in and had a few beers and I liked it its very relaxed and not too crowded and 13 peso beers very nice place located behind la mina on matamoros street go check it out.

The Motor Hotel Fiesta downtown and the Hotel Matamoros are where most of the guys I know stay. Some prefer one over the other, I prefer the Motor Hotel Fiesta. When staying at the Motor Hotel Fiesta, I would give the girl my room number and have her meet me there, just let the desk guy know a girl is coming and to let her pass. Never had a problem.

And I know several guys that prefer the Hotel Matamoros. The girls know where both places are.

At the Motor Hotel Fiesta, try to get a ground room floor, they are away from the traffic side.

There is a Fiesta Inn and a Motor Hotel Fiesta in Nuevo Laredo. The Motor Hotel Fiesta being very close to the Herradura, the Intimo, Los Jarochos, the bar Blue Fox, and the Montera bar. The Fiesta Inn is quite a ways from centro, the Motor Hotel Fiesta is in centro. No problems bringing girls to, or having them meet you at, the Motor Hotel Fiesta.

The Intimo is on Hidalgo, one block east of the Herradura (Horseshoe).

It is much safer to go to the downtown bars-Montera, Herradura & Intimo. .

Okay guys, to get to these downtown bars, in Nuevo Laredo, Mx. You do the following. You walk across bridge number 1. Not bridge number 2, which is at the end of I-35. Ask around on how to get to bridge number 1. Walk across bridge number 1.

You will end up on the "main drag" of Nuevo Laredo. This street is called Ave. Guerrero. You walk 5 blocks south on this main drag. You get to an intersection of Guerrero, and Hidalgo. (Map is below) If you turn right (west) on Hidalgo, you will see bar Montera on your left. Hookers hang out at this bar. When leaving this bar, turn right, and you will be heading east on Hidalgo.

Walk a block, or so, and you wil see bar Los Jarochos on your right. Keep walking just a little, and you will see Club Herradura on your left. All these bars have hookers in them. Ask around in these bars, for names, and directions to other bars in this area. There are several bars in this area, that have hookers in them. This is the downtown scene, in Nuevo Laredo, Mx.

Hide your money, especially if you are a white gringo. Try to get a hidden money belt, or hidden secret wallet, through the internet. Do NOT take your credit cards, or ATM cards with you. Cops may drive you to an ATM machine, and force you to take money out, or they will take you to jail.

Cops in this area may target you for frisking, if you are a white gringo. They will know what you are doing in this area, (mongering) , and they will assume you have money on you. If they frisk you, they may steal your money.

There are multiple short time hotels in the area, that the girls can show you how to get to. They are like 1 block away, if that far.

Clh5076 don't go to Nuevo Laredo Boystown. You're playing Russian Roulette if you go to NLBT and you will most likely get F*cked over by the NLBT Policia. The NLBT Policia are basically out of control in extorting mordidas / bribes from Gringos ie planting a knife, drugs etc. Or just outright stealing your dinero / money from you. If the NLBT Policia decide to make a victim out of you and F*ck you over, there ain't shit you can do about it but grin & bear it.
